Personality
Usually described as a hothead, and prefers to do things his way instead of 'by the book'. Garrus carries a strong sense of wrong and right, however, as much as he hates to go by the book, he tends to try and find ways to bring the criminal to justice no matter what. He has respect for those who have the same view. But, if he can't do such a thing, then it eats at him, because he cannot accept failure, which continues for as long as he can't do anything about the situation.

Overall, he's very loyal, and highly dedicated. If gaining his complete loyalty, he is willing to follow you to the ends of the earth. He cares for the crew, no matter what the relationship may be, very deeply. Garrus even idolized Shepard, and that never changed, despite some of it starting to rub off.

His duties are also important to him, and can get frustrated when he can't do them, considering he sees the world as "black and white", with no gray area. All in all, he's sort of a disaster, since he went from a world-weary cop to "the galaxy's most painfully awkward teenager" in Shepard's crew.

History
"Fire beats Ice, doesn't it?" He had muttered to himself, amusingly. The Ice clans were actually... Too cold, for his liking. So, living in a lava pit challenged to be a change for once. And so, he actually enjoyed it here, in a Fire clan, especially when he could share the same witty humor with the others around him, including Epsilon. But he also enjoyed to discuss philosophical and logical things with York, while taking up battle strategy ideas with Gale. Essentially, he had already made a few friends, even if he had been awkward at first and not too comfortable.
