Poinsettia was once the strongest warrior in the clan, if you can believe it. It's alright if you don't. She barely believes it either. Once, she fought alongside Paomo, her best friend, and a young dragon named Vjera, fighting off enemies and honoring their clan and their flight. They were highly respected and credited as the trailblazers of their clan's offensive front. They were even believed to be unstoppable. That was before their fateful last battle. Now, the team is respected, but in a different way. Poinsettia looks back on her days of fighting with only remorse for the young lives lost and takes every bit of blame for it. The battle was too harsh, and they were too weak to take of the opposition, but Poinsettia let her pride mar her vision. All she has left of their glorious team is the pieces of her that had been shattered and spread to the far stretches of the horizon. In the wake of her teammates' deaths, Poinsettia let everything go blurry. She drifted from her partner, Windchime, and their children. She drifted from the clan in spirit, though she was never too far physically. She watched seasons come and go passively, with no desire to get involved. Long after that day had passed and the grieving ceased, a young Imperial dragon was brought to the clan. She was named Rosaline by Selene for the rose-colored gems that adorned every inch of her iridescent scales. The young dragon was weak and at her worst, but her spirit glowed with the same fire of her homeland. Poinsettia recognized this passion as the same flame that her teammates once kindled within themselves. She vowed to care for Rosaline until her dying breath, taking her on as a 'charge' of sorts. Poinsettia still lives her days with the ghosts of the past just a few steps away, but she keeps those she loves even closer. |
