Leader of Fireteam Calamity Scourge
"Huntress"
She left her clan as a child, curious about the world and wishing to learn more than she would in a comfy nest with her brothers. She happened upon a wandering clan that seemed well meaning at first, but she quickly began to see their true colors as she integrated. As much as she wanted to leave this poisonous group, she could not.
Trapped with them, they told her they desired a big protector to watch over them and forced upon her a scroll that changed her into a guardian dragon. The transformation left her with her tiny pearl, a useless sphere that she could no longer add to. She had no use of it, and this left her feeling hopeless. She fell into a depression, where she lay about all day, not moving and seemingly not even breathing. The small group's leader would pass her by as if she did not exist, though on some days his pent up rage would cause him to slash and claw her, threatening to have her served to the clan if she did not rise and perform the duties she was made for. This pain was trivial to what was inside her and she could not go on with the terrorizing nightmare that had become her reality. Yet a gleam of hope, in the form of a dark but gentle wildclaw, came to her aid.
The raptor pitied her for what had been done but that she was sure things could brghten up and that she just had to give it a try. The wildclaw shared her food and told dreary stories about her days with the rogue group and how she would not suffer alone. Ven became attached to this older wildclaw, whom had been stuck in the strange clan for a long span of time, offering her mysterious beauty in favor of gaining sustenance to keep herself going. As a result, she had seen many of her children sent away, nameless and unwanted, because the clan would not have more tiny mouths to feed. The wildclaw took the new guardian child in almost as her own and began to bring her to her feet.
Venatrix grew large and strong under the care and guidance of Karba. She met the demands of the clan for some time but it began to get dangerous and even more demanding. Venatrix knew she was tiring of the life and the clan she and Karba were chained to. The guardian decided she was going to leave, she felt it rushing through her, the thirst for freedom.
During the night, when many dragons slept, she took her wildclaw friend out to the edge of their camp and after bashing her way through a few night guards, with the gashes to prove it, she took to the skies and flew away, the two of them running with nothing to lose and nothing pleasant to return to. They managed to get far away from that treacherous band by the next night. Though they were both tired and starving, Ven took it upon herself to find food for them, usually letting her friend eat first. Once their strength returned, the duo hunted together, finally satisfying months of constant hunger. Spending some days more wandering, they ended up in the lands of the Icewarden. They were welcomed into a clan there by a bright red wildclaw named Infirmitas. Karba decided to settle down in that clan, finding the group of mixed dragons rather welcoming after all they'd been through. While their wounds were tended, Ven took her small pearl and sunk it into a deep gash on her chest. She allowed no healer to treat it, fearing they would remove it.
Ven stayed by Karba's side, though she felt no comfort being back in the lands she once called home. Though she did not wish to leave the dark raptor's side, as she had ended up imprinting on her during their days of hardship, she wanted to be something more, and learn to battle even better than the little she knew. During a visit by Infirmitas' allies in Lightning, she noticed their leader, dark and elegant yet carved in the ways of battle. Upon inquiring, she was offered a place among Celtozaa's warriors, and she accepted, promising Karba that she would never be too far away and that she would visit as often as she was allowed. Now, she regularly visits with Serseii, as the two guardians both have a beloved charge within the clan.

Karba
The dark, older wildclaw was Ven's beacon of hope and the angel that pulled her from her deadly slump. She was the spirit that filled the empty chasm where Ven's physical soul had been taken from. This is why Ven took to being her charge, and while all guardians are extremely protective of theirs, she even more so. Without Karba, Ven would have let herself perish in the middle of that rogue camp. But standing here today, she treats and protects Karba as if there is nothing else in the world that matters. To Venatrix, there isn't.
Ven is very quiet. She speaks none, using only gestures and hisses or growls. When around Karba, she will be content to whisper. She is always much happier spending time around the older dragoness. Pushing past her harsher exterior, she is patient and willing and very loving, though she usually only exposes this around her charge. During their time together, they will often lay around next to each other, watching the clans go about their business during the day, and at night they slip out to hunt and enjoy the freedoms their new clans allow.
Her skill in battle is rough and unrefined, as she had to make do how she could during her time in the rogue group. She is practicing with Nephilim and Mother in smoothing out her rough edges. Serseii occasionally trains with her as well.
Ven did not know that her mother and charge, Karba, would eventually come to reside with her and Equinox in Clan Ebony Strike. One day, when she arrived with the young wildclaw Ghost, she imagined it to be a visit, only coming to escort the young claw. When Karba revealed that she came to live with her, the guardian was ecstaticed and let out a victorious roar before huddling against the older claw and tightly hugging her. They would finally spend eternity together.
