Biography

Each claw seemed to clack against the frozen lava flows. Flamecaller had such a warm place, a warm heart, even. He felt happy, wandering outside of the Arcanist's realm. Of course, he walked through there from time to time, but other places deserved to be explored too.

Mast had long ago accepted the fact that he was an explorer. Finding new places, homes, and even the occasional new foods. He was the one to discover the Rainforest!

Rainsong had been such a beautiful place, but he had to leave it too. There were other places to be explored on this big planet.

He could hear other clacks of talons against the stones, a feeling of dread in his stomach. He'd once again crossed paths with a group of dragons. Seemed they were out and about again, perhaps searching for a new home. He wasn't too sure, of course, but he had to find out.

"Ahem," He spoke, raising a claw to his chest, "I see we meet again."

"Ah! Hello!" Annwyl greeted, "It does indeed seem we've met again! How are you?"

"I am fine," Mast spoke, a small smile upon his maw, "I was wondering why you're traveling."

"Well, we've got a need to travel, I suppose," Annwyl spoke, "We're also trying to find a new home."

"I see," Mast responded, "Well, is there anything I can do to help?"

"I'm not sure," Annwyl answered, "Maybe travel with us? You seem to have the expertise of the land."

Mast pondered this offer. He didn't want to settle down, but he also felt they needed help. Well, better than nothing, he supposed.

"Alright," He finally replied, "But on one condition: We keep moving."

"Deal!" Annwyl smiled, "Looks like we have our guide!"

With that, they began their search. Mast took charge, walking and leading them through Flamecaller's land. The heat, as uncomfortable as it was, was better than the harsh cold of the tundra.

"So, Annwyl," Mast spoke, "What has happened to your clan?"

"I'd..rather not speak of such a thing," Annwyl responded.

"Ah," Mast spoke, "So, are you the leader in this venture?"

"No, not really. " Annwyl thought it over, "We have a leader, but I choose where we go."

"Okay," Mast chuckled, "You're a beautiful Snapper, you know."

"I.." She paused, staring at the male Imperial, "No one's ever said that before."

"Well, it's true!" He chuckled, "You are beautiful. Now, let's keep moving."

They moved on, back into the Arcanist's homestead, resting for a few days. There was plenty of bugs and food to eat, but each dragon felt this wasn't the right place. Not yet.

"Alright!" Mast called, on the fourth morning, "We need to start moving!"

With that, they began again. It was tiresome, but Mast was hopeful he could find them the perfect spot.

Rainsong seemed to tower before them, uncharted even by the bravest of dragons. Mast was the only one who'd gotten through.

"This is a dangerous place!" He spoke, "We need to be careful."

Murmurs floated through the group, some afraid the hatchlings would get snatched up. Mast looked calm, however, casting a protection spell over them.

"This spell will get us through, without being noticed." He said, trotting into the thick foliage.

It was such a beautiful place, full of wonders, birds, food, and delicious fruits they'd never once had before. The flowers were gorgeous, and many received feathers of bravery.

Exiting the forest, they all felt a sense of pride, having found their way through such an area. Mast, himself, felt proud they'd made it. Now, came the harsh deserts and cracked landscapes of Rockbreaker's realm.

By now, he and Annwyl had grown close. Closer than either had been to any other dragon. They walked in front of the rest, talking and making jokes.

They found a cozy cavern to rest, and it was time for their goodbyes. Mast eyed them, giving a smile.

"You all have braved the harsh lands," He began, "The dangers of a rainforest, and several other areas. You should be proud. Your hatchlings have grown into such beautiful dragons, each stronger than their past generations. However, it is time to say goodbye. For I must leave now. But you should be proud!"

With that, he set off, traveling about a bit. Something seemed to be missing however, and he turned his gaze to the mountains and desert. His wings spread, and he took off, soaring back to the home of Annwyl.

"Annwyl!!" He called out, tail lashing back and forth, "I'm going to stay!"

"Really?!" The Snapper female asked, "That's great!"

"We can travel, right?" Mast asked, "If that's okay?"

"Of course it is!" She beamed, "I would love to! But this is our home."

Her head turned to the others. They all nodded, and she spoke once more.

"Our home is necessary. We will return, yes?"

"Of course!" Mast spoke, beaming, "Please! I would love to stay with you!"

"You may," She chuckled, "Well, looks like we have a new member!"

The cheers seemed to spill out of the lair and for miles about. Their guide had decided to stay, and stay her did. Months passed, and he still wondered why he settled down. But he knew the answer.

Annwyl.
