Rianna is one of the few who can say she has been with the Aerwyna Clan since it began. She was taken in as a hatchling by Rosamunde, and where the others of their odd mixed clutch left, she remained. Rianna is cheerful, always looking to make others happy, but she holds a secret that only Stuttgart and her mate know: she is tainted by darkness, as her mother is. Sometimes, she is quiet, thoughtful, or will disappear for weeks at a time to keep the darkness at bay as her parents before her did.

She was always afraid to take a mate, remaining close to the clan and lever leaving the Tidelord's domain. The black circuitry may have looked like a normal enough marking to any other dragon, but she knew what it meant. She remembered as a hatchling her parents lessons. Those never left her, even after she ran away to try and avoid her fate.

But she never could. Her fear of hatching another cursed dragon made her turn down offers from courting dragons. One late night though, an Arcane dragon named Beryl traveling world rested in their lair. And he never left. He is one of the two in their clan who know of her curse.

Their first clutch was three beautiful hatchlings, none of them cursed. Her three sons were wild energetic Spirals who could not sit still. Her oldest son, Caspar, left very young. He took after his father in many ways and wanted to travel to Starfall Isles. She had been concerned for him at first, but his circuit markings were not those of a cursed dragon. But his carefree and happy nature sidetracked Caspar, and last Rianna heard from him he had settled in the Windswept Plateau.

Her second son Armani remained not much longer. A blend of his parents, he sought adventure and activity. He, too, had intended to go to Starfall Isles and stopped instead in the Scarred Wasteland. Though not happy, Rianna knew that the clan he was with, though young and small, would care for him well as one of their own.

Her youngest Loxias of her first clutch stayed. He was affectionate and quiet, and the most profound of her three hatchlings, for he did not look anything like either Rianna nor Beryl. She privately considers him pure, for his circuit markings are white as ice, a sharp contrast to the blood red scales of his body.

Rianna has frequently looked back and wondered what her life would have been had she stayed with her birth clan, or not been taken in by this one, and she decided she would much rather have Beryl's patient support and her son's jokes than anything else. Each hardship of being tainted by darkness is helped by her mate, and the joy of being a mother is more than enough to maker her not regret this choice.

When her second clutch of eggs was born, two males and one female, she was dismayed to see one had been born tainted by darkness. Black circuit markings covered him. His wings, unlike his brother's and sister's bright ones, were darkened with the taint. So she taught him all she could, as her parents before her did, so that when he traveled to a new clan he would be ready and know what to expect when the darkness came after others.

When he grew old enough Rianna began taking him with her to battle the darkness. She became afraid to have more children, for fear more of them would be born Bound or Cursed by the darkness and would have to bear this burden. It is now that she needs her mate and hatchlings most, in her time of fear.
