Biography
Originally from Dragonhome, how Elvire came to join the clan is a very interesting story.
Wandering the Viridian Labyrinth, she came across an unusual sight - a Fae and a Mirror arguing loudly while a shimmering Notcure hatchling sucked on his tail and watched with big eyes. At first taken aback, she went in for a closer look, approaching until she could hear the argument clearly.
Her shock was quickly replaced by anger though, as she realised that the pair were arguing over the best way to get rid of the hatchling. The Fae wanted to shoo it away and leave it for the Beastclans, while the Mirror wished to simply eat it.
Sense of justice raging, the Skydancer lept into the air, spreading her wings wide and landed with a large thump in the middle of the lair.
"Cease this immediately!" she cried. The bickering pair turned on her, baring teeth and claws and flaring their wings, until they realised that she was twice the size of them put together. Out-classed, they sank back warily, retreating to the back of the lair.
"How dare you," the Skydancer continued, "how dare you treat this poor hatchling this way. He has clearly no family of his own, or if he has he has wandered off. If anything, you should at least try to take care of him!"
Under her fearsome glare the pair of dragons sidled back even further, exchanging sullen looks, until the Fae spoke.
"He's not my hatchling, and I should hope that he is not Drogo's either. My mate found him while hunting, and he presumably decided to bring him back here as a midnight snack. On the way, my mate clearly hit his head, as when he returned he told me that he had brought him home to help found our clan. We have but just started, and our egg is still not hatched. I however do not have time for egg-sitting and looking after this hatchling. If you want to take care of him so badly, why don't you do it?"
The Skydancer looked behind the dragons and saw that there was indeed a nest hidden in the back of the lair, with one small egg carefully cradled within it. Her heart soften slightly for the pair, who were clearly young, and she turned back to them.
"Regardless of whether you intended to eat the hatchling -"
Drogo looked a little guilty.
"-or throw him out for the Beasts, either option represents a failure of duty to your clan. Having taken him in you have a duty to raise him. This responsibility continues until he has become fully grown, at which point he may make a decision about leaving. "
The Fae looked like she wanted to argue some more, but a flap of the Skydancer's wings made her close her mouth.
"As for me, well, it is as you said. I do not trust you to not throw this hatchling out as soon as I am on my way, so it seems I will be staying a while to yes, help take care of him." She smiled at them, all teeth and righteousness. "I hope you don't mind. Your lair does seem big enough, and if not, I will help expand it."
The two dragons realised that there was nothing they could do; not even strong-willed Lapis was willing to fight, not with an egg under tail anyway.
And so it was that Elvire came to live with the clan. She intended to stay but a few months, however it seemed that Lapis and Drogo were happy to shove all babysitting duties on her, and instead she became the unofficial mother of many clan members.
