Delirium
Uh-oh, looks like this colorful eyesore wandered a little too far from her lair (lair 121281, reginaRenegade), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the urge to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here.

Owners I've Had:

(haleyrae, #145116)
(ysa, #90734)

Renegade
The dreams were disturbing their sleep. Nobody said as much, but she knew that, as strange as her outside appearance was, her magic was far worse. Distance helped, and she isolated herself every evening. But magic cannot run unchecked forever, and Delirium could tell that the longer she lingered at home the worst the effects would get. Turning to Nilota for help, the two decided that finally setting out on her Search could at least solve one of Delirium's problems.

Perhaps traveling could help her control her dreams.

TunaMeltSurprise
The clan tried their best to accommodate Delirium, but as days passed, she only distanced herself further from the lair. The uneasy residents finally decided that she wouldn't find what she needed there, and again she went on.

Robotphantom
It was by luck that Delirium would find members of her own clan among the dragons here. Her time among the clan lead to nightmares, and a clutch of two eggs with gleaming green scales. Not wanting to risk her children being harmed by her magic, Delirium left the clan the day they hatched.

Ninette
It was a tough stay in Starfall Isles for Delirium. She took upon herself to land and rest near a seemingly quiet and peaceful clan, but they would not have her being off by herself and took her in. Very quickly, Delirium explained why she was on a journey, or a "quest" as she called it. She had magic, she said, far more than she could manage. She was kept well away from this clan's evil little fae and it was decided she would learn to control her magic by strength. The clan's designated fighters, Gallaxo and Neiva took upon themselves to teach her some qualities they had learned during their time in battle. Delirium was hungry for more, but the more she learned to fight, the more she learned about her own magic. Naia was gaining interest, and that interest was dangerous. The dragons whispered to Delirium to leave before matters turned sour, and so she did.

Steel
Soon it's not just others who are affected by her strange magic. Soon after she leaves the clan, she wakes up in a cold sweat and a creeping sense of paranoia. It happens the night after, again.
And the next.
And the next.
So she drags her exhausted body further and further from any civilizations and any source of magic that could amplify her magic. It isn't long before Delirium arrives in a desolate region of the Icewarden's territory. The land is blissfully empty of dragons she could potentially hurt, and it seems void of the pulsing arcane force that brings about her hated abilities. It works for a few days, and she gets a chance to rest in the biting winds and crushing loneliness. But the whole time, Delirium can feel her senses expanding until one day she wakes up to feel the ebb and flow of other dragon minds. Others, who no doubt, are now within range of the horrid dreams.
So with a heavy heart, Delirium leaves to go farther, further, and find some solution.

Prescott
Delirium wasn't sure what to expect as she followed the dark crystalline wildclaw named Vladimir back to his maze-ridden lair. Apparently, the dragons here were used to strange magic, and had no problems with her staying.
But when a bright green Skydancer screeched in pain the next morning, claiming to have had a terrible nightmare, she thought otherwise. Although the other dragons promised her that Tiestow was prone to nightmares, she could not rest here anymore. She thanked them for their hospitality, and moved on with her journey, watching as a rather paranoid wildclaw started altering the maze as soon as she left.

haleyrae
At first, Delirium didn't know what an enormous feat it was for her to enter the borders of a friendly light clan situated in the middle of an ancient city. Upon entering, she was quickly greeted by a surprisingly cheery tundra. How is this dragon not afraid? she wondered. Can't she tell what I am? Interrupting her own welcome, she tried to explain that she needed to leave immediately, that she had thought these buildings to be empty for miles around. But, this kind tundra - who she later learned was named Lyssa - would have none of it.

Lyssa went on to explain that if Delirium's magic had been truly dark, truly evil, that she never would have made it past the clan's magic gates. They served to protect all those within, keeping out anyone looking to hurt the clan. Delirium couldn't believe she had been deemed safe to be among these dragons, but it eased her mind greatly. Although being in such close proximity to so many others was unnerving. She felt observed, judged, like an outsider pretending she belongs. As untrue as these thoughts were, she still managed to remain an outcast from them. The only thing keeping her in the clan was the knowledge that she wouldn't be hurting anyone while she stayed. With this fear gone, Delirium felt more in control of herself than she ever had before.

After several weeks living among the clan, Delirium found it in herself to leave on her own. For the first time she wasn't pushed out by fear, but rather longing. She grew impatient of finally feeling settled in her magic, but still without a Charge. With the well-wishes of (most) clan members, she bid farewell and continued on her Search. This time, hopeful rather than fearful.

Still in the domain of the Lightweaver, Delirium came across a spirited young Spiral who was hunting the same beetle as she was. Despite the conflict stealing another's catch should have generated, the big-eyed spring of a dragon generously offered a bag full of various edibles.
