Tolstoy has an acute sense of perception which allows him to see through any dragon or social interaction and understand what's really going on. While an excellent judge of character who can smell a bad egg from a mile away, he also believes in giving others the benefit of the doubt and a second chance. At the same time, he can't stand unnecessary conflict, hurting, or taking advantage of others, and will quickly put a stop to this when he can help it.

Though he does not enjoy being in leadership roles, he will step forward to do so out of necessity when no one else takes the helm. Thus, he is the temporary leader for the clan until another dragon proves themself capable of taking the position.

Compassionate soul that he is, Tolstoy hates upsetting anyone; unfortunately, not all conflicts can be resolved to the equal satisfaction of all parties. Whenever this happens, he places a burden of guilt on himself for not trying hard enough to find a good solution for everyone. Even while he can see the best in others, he has a very hard time forgiving himself for past failures.
