Main Theme: Red Sorrow

______ Ash is my progenitor; encompassing an element that I've recently found within myself. She is fire, she is passion, she is love, she is care. A true Matron to all, she welcomes everyone into the fold because it's just the right thing to do. A heart made of gold, reciprocated in kindness extended to others,
Ash is the core of who I am. Born in Blood, Forged in Fire, seasoned in heartbreak and longing for family, Ash gathers all the broken and lost and gives them hope. Give them joy. Gives them a family. And that is what the Clan of Rekindling is all about... Growing as a family, a culture,
from the ashes of a deceased world.

______ Born from a coalescing mist of convulsion, Ash came into the world confused and alone. Wandering far across Sornieth, she found her home in the warmth of the Ashfall Waste. As an ancient, however, she could not share a nest with the others who nested here, who called the lands of the Flamecaller home. So she worked to find a way, any way, to be able to embrace that which she could not have.

______ She eventually found her way, downtrodden, to the volcanic rim, begging for the help of the Flamecaller. She received an omen... She could have what she desired, if she trekked to the land of the light. But she was warned that it would not remain, that one day she would return to her true self. Determined, she took heart and went to the land of the light, and even if her delicate form shied away from the intensity, indeed, she found a discarded pearl among the ruins, and took it to her chest. She became pearlcatcher, embracing the spirit of one that passed.

BIOGRAPHY

______ With her new form, she returned to the Ashfall Wastes and built her nests within Emberglow Hearth. She cared, tirelessly, to make the most comfortable spots for any and all eggs, and after her brooding with Survine, dedicated herself as tender of the young. She became the Matron of the clan, her dreams come true, her desires sated as she loved any and all who wandered to her home.

______ Ash led this life for near a decade, carrying and embodying the spirit of the pearlcatcher of light, offering love and kindness to any she could. She enjoyed the company of many mates over the years, knowing this gift she received would not last, and made deep friendships that she often turned for counsel in times of need and emotional sorrow. One of her favorites was the mysterious Scoria, a seer of flame that counseled the spirits of the Waste, a dreamer and visionary of the art of flame.

______ Yet all things must end, and so did Ash's time as a pearlcatcher. She still keeps and tends to the pearl that she carried for all those years, still a sacred gift to her even if it is but a treasured memory now. It wasn't long, however, before the rest of her kind began to flutter out from the shadows, another gift of the dragon gods - as far as she was concerned, anyway. She could now mate and continue that which she loved, with her own kind. Everglade became a consort to her fiery whim, his warm and gentle temperament a comfort, although her heart belongs to Sovin, the cool Ice Mage Master with a far warmer interior. She adores her children, no matter their origin, and has more than enough love to share with all.

A better explanation for Ash's journey and my connection to it

Outside of FR, Ash is one of my main OC's. One of the first, and the one I'm the most passionate about - in many ways, she is my sona, or perhaps better said, my other half. She is what I am not, what I could not be - and writing with her started in late 2015. Through my journey with her, she's shown me how to start healing, and to have hope, even with things seem at their worst.

While she was originally designed these colors with FR June of 2013, it took over 2 years to actually put her persona on paper, and to bring her to life, and even now, she remains one of my most beloved characters. Here she is seen with wisdom, age, and kindness - Facets I myself try to share with her the most. A mother I never had - The mother I wish I could be.
