Called the Wind-Witch at the Aerie, Dusk knows the tempers of the Aerie’s weather better than anyone else. It is her that everyone consults before leaving the Aerie’s sheltered canyons. And Dusk is never wrong. She spends a great deal of her time in her tower at the edge of the canyon plateau, watching the skies and the clouds. The knowledge she gleans from the weathers’ patterns is a great benefit to the defense of the Aerie and she has quite a good deal of knowledge about the waters and earth around the Aerie – though not as much as Briar, who is her rival. He often tells her that she should keep her head in the clouds and let him tend to the ground. They often disagree.

When not being chased down by all members of the Aerie seeking weather-related counsel, Dusk can be found lazing about in whatever corner she can find. She sleeps a lot and is quite fond of flowers. Nyla knows this well and often invites her to the Orphanage’s gardens to help keep an eye on the hatchlings. Dusk is easy-going and gets along famously with most everyone. She, Cirrus and Sandrine are often seen together in good company with Cirrus being another skywatcher and Sandrine her faithful friend. Despite her good-tempered nature, Dusk is also notoriously powerful – the title “Witch” did not go unaided. Dusk has incredible weather-based magic though great shows of this strength drain her considerably thus causing her to sleep at all hours of the day. With a good weeks’ sleep and when she’s feeling particularly energetic, Dusk can summon storms of rain and rolls of thunder. On particularly mischievous days, she likes to do this when the sun is shining. Thankfully, the weather spells never last too long. Lately she has been formulating a spell to summon the morning fog at all hours of the day. Zharis and Cinder seem particularly interested in this experiment as it could come to their defense one day.

So while Briar tells her to keep her nose out of his business, it’s her he goes to when a drought has stricken the crops, much to Dusk’s unending amusement. He’s always quick to remind her that the flowers she’s so fond of are grown by him.
