Poppett has a special place in the Windcurrent Clan, as its first Snapper dragon. She has known Khan and Tarcy for quite sometime, almost being there as soon as the clan set up. Hailing from the Viridian Labyrinth, Poppett had a way with flora, being able to garden and grow just about everything, from flowers and grasses, to trees and herbs. Her niche in the clan was as its Gardener, making the clan a much brighter place with her flowerbeds. She mostly kept to herself, though she enjoyed shooting the breeze with Tarcy, every once in awhile, when she wasn't busy. Tarcy was Poppett's first friend. Then more dragons starting coming into the clan...including a handsome Imperial. Jay, Finch, and Mockingbird were the Windcurrent Clan's new arrivals, shortly after Poppett. And, almost instantly, Poppett fell in love with the Imperial, Jay. To her, he was very handsome, and was also a Nature Dragon, like herself! She was surprised to find him just as quiet-spoken as she was, and was extremely kind. He became the Nature Healer of the clan, and relied heavily on Poppett's herbs that she grew in her garden. The two soon teamed up, with Poppett supplying Jay with the materials he needed to heal anything from bruises and scrapes, to sickness. As his clinic grew, the two talked more and more, and soon became quite close. And that's when Poppett learned a secret about Jay--he was just as self-conscious about his appearance, as she was her own. Ever since she came into the clan, Poppett's been very self-conscious about her size. Being a Snapper, she's naturally bigger, but she's still very self-conscious about her weight, especially. She doesn't think herself as beautiful or pretty, due to her size, and even after Jay came into her life, she's still quite self-conscious about her appearance. When she's not around Jay, she often shrinks in on herself, trying to not appear so big, so that she can't be picked on. The clan's former treasurer, Artemis, teased her constantly about her size. ...Until Jay came, and he quickly stopped. A large Imperial mate could shut up anyone that dared tease her. Even now, she gets uncomfortable when the topic of her size is brought up. The two became extremely close over time, but with the introduction of Heolstor, things started to take a turn for the worse. Heolstor was treated regularly at Jay's clinic, and Poppett saw first-hand the amount of affection the Imperial had for Jay. It was rather...creepy, to be honest. But after one night, she noticed Jay acting differently. He'd avoid her, and he shut down the clinic temporarily. Her concern tripled when she found him puking up black goop...a sign of Shade infection. Poppett gathered up her courage, and went to confront him, knowing this was all Heolstor's fault. But upon going to talk to him, he was in the middle of a quiet frenzy, a 'fight' with the Shade inside of him...and he accidentally lashed out at her, leaving her with a scar down her eye. |

Though despite being wounded by the one she loved most, Poppett knew Jay wasn't himself, when he lashed out. Soon after, he collapsed and became terribly sick, due to the Shade inside of him. Thankfully, Domhnall--the clan's Light Representative, and a warrior against the Shade, started working immediately on purifying him, sealing the Shade within him, so it wouldn't harm him anymore. Around the same time, the clan was attacked by the Shade, and Heolstor. Many lives were lost, and soon Jay's clinic was overrun with injured dragons. Poppett took it upon herself to start treating them, until Jay was back on his feet. Domhnall's magic worked wonders and, after a few agonizing days, Jay was finally purged of the Shade, and back at Poppett's side. Poppett never left him, and after tending to the dragons in the clinic, she'd return to his side, calmly petting him, nuzzling him, and just tending to him. She was with him through his roughest time...and they came out even closer. The attack of the Shade wrought devastation on the clan. Many were injured, but more were hurt mentally than physically. Still, Poppett did what she could in the clinic to help aid any dragon in need of help. Aside from being the Gardener of the clan, she soon became the assisstant nurse at Jay's clinic, helping him and the doctor, Maelgwyn. She still focuses on her garden, growing herbs for the clinic, and various plants for the clan to enjoy, and eat too. Even the clan's flower fairy, Crysanthamos, got full use out of her garden, for his flower arranging. And, as a gift for pulling through, Poppett made Jay his own flower crown, so the two could match, with her own flower lei that she grew herself. Nowadays, she's hardly away from Jay's side, found either around the clinic, or in her garden, which is right next to the clinic's building. She wears a mask over her scar, so Jay isn't consumed with guilt each time he looks at her face. While she doesn't mind the scar, she wants Jay to be happy, so on the mask goes. Though, for some reason, the mask attracts several butterflies. They help her in pollinating her flowers, though, so she doesn't mind the small, fluttering entourage. The jewelry she wears on her wings was a gift from Jay, right before Helostor came into the clan. In return, she gave him a pendant--both are never seen with the jewelry off, even while bathing. Her and Jay are one of the older couples in the Windcurrent clan...and there's no sign of them slowing down. |
