Kisin

Kisin is a Mayan Death God. "Kisin is the name of the death god among the Lacandons as well as the early colonial Choles, kis being a root with meanings like 'flatulence' and 'stench'."

It is a well-known fact that during the Crystalline Gala, many battles are fought and won in the name of the Icewarden. What is often forgotten is how many battles are lost. On one such battle field, a dragon was lying, slain, and his companion shed a single tear over his fallen body. From that tear grew a hatchling, one made entirely of Ice. This newborn foe knew no fear, no love, no doubt, only revenge, revenge against those who felled the unnamed fallen dragon. This blood-lust alienated him from many a clan until, finally, he found a home in a shadow clan that needed a champion. He chose to step forth and become this champion and found purpose in fighting for its cause. He is currently awaiting his naming ceremony, then he will become a full-fledged member of the clan and reach his full potential.

Liriel had heard tales of a creature that righted the wrongs caused to them during their living days. These creatures were often driven by a devouring hunger for blood. For these reasons, she felt the name suited him. In the naming ceremony, she announced the name, and he accepted. From then on, he would be known as the Champion of Candor, sir Draugr.

Kisin woke from his slumber with a start. It had been such a long since he had heard that name. He had nearly forgotten...

Of Tide, the love of his life, who was felled on the battlefields of the Viridian Labyrinth long ago. Of his children, all of whom had passed, but one, who was nowhere to be found.
Of his young son who was slain before he could even receive a name.
It also brought back the time before Tide, when he was blood thirsty and wanted vengeance for a dragon that he did not even know, but had brief memories of.
Kisin shook the memories from his head.
That wasn't him any longer. He was no longer Draugr. He was Kisin and that life was behind him now.
