Poinsettia adores the festive season; perhaps unusually so, especially for one born so far away from it. She likes the crisp chill of frost in the air, the crunch of snow underfoot and the glitter sparkle of ribbons and candle jars in the boughs of fir trees. Snuggling around fires with pumpkin or cinnamon spiced cocoa.

But more importantly, she loves and embraces sentiment of the season. She is gentle and generous, loves gift giving and sharing in quiet moments with family and friends. Her eyes light up when she watches someone gleefully tear through the paper she had ever so carefully wrapped, and she happily sends her peace dove off, beak clasped around letters of love for the year past and well-wishes for the one that lies ahead.

As she is only young Poinsettia does of course sometimes forget herself; in her excitement, she can be clumsy or perhaps too forward. But though a pink blush will rise to her face, no one would dream to hold it against her. After all, 'tis the season!
With their bright crimson bracts and rich green leaves, Poinsettia plants are grown the world over and represent the celebrations of Christmas, and of the whole festive season. poinsettia1_zpsfrlwubrb.png
