Ironspine

Ironspine, named for her coloring and strength, even as a small hatchling, watched as her clanmates laughed and joked with each other. She had no taste for all of that. She was a more serious dragon. Rin, the Nocturne her father guarded, insisted she spend time with them, but she only came to insure everything remained peaceful. She wore armor with sharp spikes on it; almost as sharp as her own spines, she was proud to realize. She was very proud of the armor in and of itself, since she had earned it. She hadn't borrowed it the way many of her species would have. She had taken the time to save up for it and bought it outright. She didn't want anyone to have the chance to come and reclaim it from her. She needed her armor. It made her even more powerful, which she needed. She had to defend her clan, her home, and more importantly, her family. She was the only true warrior in the whole clan! All the others were too busy playing to be ready for a battle. Her father and siblings would do well, but she was the only one with an iron core; the only one ready to fight for their lives and everything they had. Streak thought her too serious, but she thought him too frivolous, something a few of the others seemed to take as a joke. But it wasn't a joke; far from it. Streak was smart, and powerful, but he was too airy. He needed to be stronger, like her. She would show him. Show them all. They'd all be warriors with her one day.

Ironspine is the only Ridgeback born to a clutch of four, her other siblings being Guardians like their father. However, many would say four Guardians were sired by Mirror, and he takes pride in that. Ironspine is much like her siblings, in that she feels the need to protect, but her need is focused on the clan as a whole. She had no Search like they will. Streak and Elise try to make the younger dragon be a little less serious and bit more fun loving but she won't have any of it. She's determined to be ready for anything that may happen, and reluctantly they let her.
