Spruce was born to a humble chicken raiser and a border patroller in a small clan in the Shrieking Wilds. The shadow of the Behemoth gave shelter and plenty of food to the Salix Alba Clan, and Spruce grew up spending hours at a time gazing at the gigantic tree, trying to find the Mother Of All That Lives. When he first heard of Juniper, Spruce couldn't understand the concept behind her idea. Why create a clan for Marked Dragons? His father was of the Wind element and they had been treated well by their Clan. Juniper had to explain to him that not anybody shared their luck, and faced instead the anger and mistrust of others. Spruce eventually joined Juniper in her clan, but had no idea of how to be useful to them. Growing up in a peaceful environment he had no role, no skills. Soon, Spruce decided to travel to an ally clan in the Tangled Woods in order to find out his true purpose. Here he met new friends and a rolemodel in Coral, the Blind Fighter. Her fame was notorious through all of Sornieth, for she was strong and fast even without her eyesight. Spruce reached to the conclusion that, much like the large Imperial, he too wanted to fight to defend his clan and teach others the techniques he'd learnt from his mentor. His personal style, using his long body to blend with the surrounding trees and strike quickly earned him a leadership position back home, and all the dragons that wish to be trained have to go to him. |
