Her colors were gorgeous, her style was on point, but her head and heart spoke adventure. When she was born from the Sorenith-wide boom due to the moon's increased effect on dragons, she wasn't really what the parent's were hoping for. She seemed too scrawny, yet had the gaul of an Imperial-sized Nocturne. She pounced on anything that moved, even if it was a scorpion that she was allergic to.
"That could easilly get herself killed..." They thought.
But they couldn't just throw her into the deities clutches. They had to find out a new place for the little one to go that she would be safe, a place where she could be wanted and kept safe. Maybe someplace with a ruthless leader who seemed so tough that she'd learn her lesson.
And of course, everyone knew of Coalbringer's mighty roars and her ungodly size. Maybe that'd be the perfect place?
She arrived in the clan of Smoke and Fire with beady onlooking eyes. This place looked like a war camp, but with more areas than she could imagine! Familiar stables, hunter and gatherers, adventurers and knights! Almost seemed like a dream come true! But where would she fit in?
She tried training with Evangelon to fight and choose your fights wizely, but that didn't work out so well. She tried studying under Lapis to learn about how to take care of plants and fruits, but ended up picking every single one to experiment on.
But, she learned so much from each experience! She learned from Biowaz which familiars were harder to tame, and which ones to avoid in the field. She learned battles are best fought and which ones are to be left alone. She learned art skills, plant biology, and even potion crafting!
It was hard though, to stay under one dragon for so long. She needed to write her findings down, she wanted to learn more.
As she stated her goodbyes to the clan, she hesitated. Her home, no, her family was all she knew in the whole world. She couldn't leave them without saying goodbye. She had to do something to remember them. And so, in her little journal there sits a forward that states:

It was her destiny to travel the world in search of new items and people. She dreamed of becoming the one that others looked to, that others could read her maps and books and scrolls of multitudinous knowledge. Maybeline was never one for pretty looks, she always got her hands dirty attempting to figure out which plant could potentially cure Mire Warts. Out from shadow and born in the boom of the dragons that attempted to be the 13000000'th child, she roamed the countryside of the Dragonhome, she's roamed the heights of the Windswept Plateau, even dove underneath the Sea of One Thousand Currents! But there are so many places she could go, so many new outfits, so many new plants and insects and animals she hasn't seen! Maybe today is her day to discover something new? |
