Biography

Role: Adviser and Clan Communicator
Best Traits: Strong, Driven, Committed, Cunning
Best Known For: Being Rhea's Companion and Adviser, Taking care of no father clutches, Training Familiars to carry messages

The second eldest dragon of the clan. He has stood by Rhea's side as a companion and then mate. He understands and accepts that he will never be able to fully have Rhea's heart as her first was the powerful Alduin that grew in front of his eyes.
As an elder Guardian he is lucky to be taken by a mate at all due to his size and often much too powerful ways. On occasion he is known to act as father to the unclaimed nests of other females, commonly the small Meave can not help herself and flits off to mate with a young Fea that catches her eye and Grand doesn't mind stepping up to the nest so to speak.

His story was easy and he was sent from his old lair to help protect and grow this lair to be stronger. His old lair was full of mostly Nocs and his only job there was to stand watch over the lair's ground entry. He at the time, as a young male was more than pleased when he was told and invited to join a new smaller lair that originally consisted of only guardians and guardian girls no less. Though as soon as he arrived he fell smitten with the stunning leader of the lair and refused to pair with any other dragon even though he was heavily courted by many females. As time passed his attempts at flirting and wooing the beautiful Rhea became more than a chore and he all together stopped when he realized there was another male in his way. Alduin, the male that had more or less busted into Rhea's home and forced her from her slumber had grown to be more than a competitor, he had out right won. Grand was devastated but stood by Rhea's side hoping to one day show that his sparkling hide was much better than Alduins dull coat and that his strength was unmatched.

Grand's paws touched the humming floor of his personal lair. He had to do something or Rhea would never even once consider him for a mate. He had watched Alduin's children grow and leave the lair at his advice and he had smiled when Alduin had dipped his head down in acceptance of his children's parting. But the plan didn't work how he wanted. Alduin had stayed behind instead of insisting he at least fly with them to the towering telescope of the Arcanist. Grand mumbled softly to himself as he trudged through the thick underbrush between arcane and plague. He had sent a familiar to the plaguelands in hope of contacting someone he knew could help him.

He stopped at the edge of a clearing. Strange ooze and puss dripped from trees on the other side and he retched to his side because of the smell that greeted him.
"You non-plague and your weak stomachs," a ragged wet cough followed by terrible wheezing leaped from the air of the clearing. A Ridgeback male stood towering tall in front of Grand. Oozing cysts grew on the Ridge's body and sent deadly drips flying forth onto the ground and plant life around him. Grand's stomach churned sickeningly as the leafs that had been touched seemed to burn and lose life before his eyes.
"Y-" breathing made the feeling worse, "You're the Biologist?"
"Yes,"He all but coughed up a lung, bloody flem flew through the air and splattered inches from Grand's claws, "Yes I am he. You needed a sickness no one could catch but that no one could cure, is that right?" His voice was menacing and seemed to laugh at Grand for what he knew the Guardian intended to do, "I've used this before but I will not give it to you to use freely. I will go with you and help you in exchange you will help me end my life," This time he coughed and doubled over into little more that a squirming ball of agony. when his fit stopped he rolled up and looked at Grand with sad eyes, "What was meant to be a gift, what we gained fully from the gods themselves, has turned into a cruel joke in front of the Plague Mother's eyes. She spreads destruction in hopes that we die but many of her gifts are slow painful deterioration that live as long as the dragon lives and will do nothing more than make their life a living hell. The crazy young plaguelings believe that they will not become one of her play things for I was once one of those and here I am today before you," the Ridge paused and shivered surprised that he could speak so many words without being interrupted by a wheeze or coughing. "So you promise that if i do this i may pass on to the next hatching?" Grand nodded and they both began their short journey back to Grand's lair. The very lair he had been sent to protect would be the lair he set destruction upon and all for the hopes of his heart. No all because he knew he was truly better for Rhea. He was the strongest, the biggest and the most brilliant in every way and yet Rhea had turned a blind eye! He had to show her what a mistake she had made.

Alduin walked back into the lair and the Ridgeback lifted his scales in preperation once Grand had said who his target was to be.The Ridge had to be careful or he would kill the smaller male Guardian before he himself would die from the wounds inflicted but he had to make the fight look convincingly crazied. Grand entered the lair and soon came swooping in after the Ridge shoved Grand against a wall. The howls and roars attracted Alduin's prompt attention. The younger Guardian slammed into the pustular side of the Ridge. They both went flying out into the open night air. it took more than a grunt for Alduin to lift himself off the ground. Before he was ready the Ridge was on him and Grand was no where to be seen. The Ridgeback bite his soft hide and tore at his neck then, something stabbed into him. The Ridge jumped back and watched as the adrenaline mixture stirred the poor fool's blood into a burning contaminated rage and then leaped into his death with a terrible laugh filled with tormented glee.

When it was all done the Ridge looked at Grand and smiled a bloody haunting smile that faded as the dragon's life ended. Grand notified Alduin that the Ridge had died and called for the others of the lair to bring salves and the healing tinctures that Rhea had brewed herself. He slithered away as the small Pearls began their work cleaning and disinfecting the wounds. Rhea was still in a shock as Grand walked in to the great cavern. "Go see to him, He might not make it and having you there may keep him long enough for him to survive this," Rhea's eyes ripped from Alduin's body as the weight of Grand's words hit her. Tears began flowing and she dashed to Alduin's side. Grand watched as his heart tore to pieces with the realization of what he had done to the dragon he loved.

He fell onto his nest and looked up through the soft glow of the pink stone. She would never be the same after this and he was the one to blame. No one would ever know unless somehow they had been followed. The Plague Mother probably laughed at the terrible act he had orchestrated. He could almost hear it. No, wait. He Could hear it! Her voice was deep and sinister she cooed at him from inside his thoughts. You are one of us now, my Darling Grand shuddered as he felt her caress his mind with her's. I will be watching you. Expect a little lair gift from me, she will be your' clan's little hunter~ oh but which shall she be, we shall see, my Twisted boy. Her laughter filled his mind as he fell into a tormented slumber.
