Biography
Born as a Pearlcatcher from Arcane territories, he was afflicted by the Gembond disease upon his birth. He had hatched at the main focal point of the Starfall Isles, and left his home clan to fend for himself upon realizing he felt aimless. As he wandered into the location known to dragons as the Starwood Strand, he felt his body become lighter— his gems shed. His pearl became imbued with the ambient magics of the strand, of forest. As he focused and meditated with his pearl, trying to recall what others may have mentioned in warning to him about the Strand, he had realized that his pearl no longer just held his memories. It held something of that energy, but not only held it, was now a conduit to it. As he pressed upon it with his forehead, the last of his gems shed from his body. In their place he gained patterns and stripes of a similar color. Had the Arcanist took pity on him? Many dragons survived the Gembond condition just fine, albeit having a harder time flying at various points. His body now felt light. After this critical event within the Starwood Strand, Kazimir wandered Sorneith for a time. He stuck to the north areas mainly, visiting Dragonhome and the Viridian Labyrinth. He had to fend for himself, he learned how to strike with claw and tooth as much as any type of magic he used previously. Deep within the Labyrinth, he found himself confronted with an Overcharged Silverbeast as he skirted the sides of the Rainsong Jungle. Facing odds he knew as a lone dragon he could not survive, Kazimir dodged and jumped and hoped the beast would tire eventually. A Paradise Zalis had been watching the scuffle, and on a whim distracted the beast while Kazimir escaped. On a chance, Kazimir had found the avian later by a stream, missing a few feathers as he had noted upon seeing the creature, and offered it some fruit as a thank you. Since, the two have not been parted. He eventually found himself near the Sunbeam Ruins. Excited over the discovery of trinkets and artifacts, he and his Zalis had eagerly delved into the ruins. However, a clan was living near the ruins he had been so excited to explore. After being confronted by a border guard, and getting caught in a small fight— the clan leader halted the activity and asked who he was. Kazimir offered happily the knowledge that he was simply a wandering dragon from the Arcane territories, and the clan leader took him at his word. He was offered a position within the clan after having demonstrated his battle capabilities, along with a penchant for scavenging. These two abilities were sorely needed by the Light clan, and Kazimir performed them to the best of his abilities. From time to time, he does still sneak away from the clan in order to find more artifacts from the region however. He also does seek still for areas “close to the world” in the way that the Starwood Strand had made him feel. In such locations, he enjoys meditating with his pearl. Fighting comes naturally to him, but he requires that mental space deeply as well. |
