Kayle

The older dragons always whispered when they saw Kayle nearby. They would stare and gasp if she looked towards them. At times when their voices weren't quiet enough she would hear what they said in hushed tones.

A freak, they called her. Strange. Abnormal. Odd. Scary.

She had heard those words from a very young age. She wasn't sure why up until the day the accident happened.

Trudging through winter snow, a still tiny Kayle did not see the end of the path in front of her, that descended a steep cliffside. She didn't know anything about it until she was tumbling down it.

She screamed as she plummeted towards the bottom, fire shooting from her lips and attacking the icy depths. She got closer and closer and then--

She stopped falling.

Opening her eyes, she looked down to see a mighty tower of fire inside of ice stood below her feet. Somehow she had harnessed the power of flame and ice.

It took her a while to climb back up, but when she did and her parents discovered what had happened, instead of joy and pride like she expected, they were terrified.

From that point onward she spent most of her time alone. No one would befriend her. As she got older, no male would even try to get to know her. They saw her as a threat not a potential mate.

Solitude was hard, but she was still happy in life. With all the time she spent on her own, Kayle was able to practice her craft and hone her gift. In time she was able to control it entirely. In her spare time she makes statues and even tiny figurines out of fire-ice.

Eventually she left her home clan behind and made out to find her proper home. Surely there was a place that could accept her, that would never make her feel lonely when she wished for company. There had to be. She had to believe there was.

06/04/2016 Kayle migrates to Svae's clan to begin her new life. She is welcomed with open wings, and much is made of her beauty and strange, wonderful talent.
