The Beginning

Zayin was the one who created this clan of Altair, named after one of the stars in the sky. Back in the day, he was the clan leader and a good one to boot. Everyone followed his command (though there were a few mishaps with a Maize Guardian that wanted to overthrow him), but soon he was exalted, so things were peaceful. At one point, he felt that he had been losing his influence on the dragons because many of the newer ones came from clans that felt were much more powerful than his. Not to mention that he wasn't gened (for there was also a time where a lot of dragons felt that being gened meant being more powerful as they were a rarity).

Time went by and a new dragon took his place as a leader to all, and because of that he and his mate stuck to the sidelines. They took care of the offspring and often explored their nearby areas, bringing back all sorts of loot. Most of the time though they observed and chatted with the other dragons, but not really keeping close relations except to those who have been in the clan for a long time.

One day, he chanced upon a Scatterscroll. He wondered if this will make the newer clanmates (who were rising in numbers) respect him more, and so he tried it. What happened was something that he felt was humiliating, as his once Storm hide became Black, and his wings that were a dull Beige became a bright Pink. He loathed it and hid from the clan, even from his mate, for a while, before Rye found him and convinced him to come back. He's still trying to come in terms with his colors, and with the introduction of the Scrying Workshop, feels that maybe he might consider changing to a different breed in order to feel at ease. He doesn't show it, but his self-esteem has dropped since he first started his clan. He hopes (but barely) that someday he'll get it back.

Despite his rocky back story, he's a very friendly and soft Tundra. Pretty forgetful at times, but he's easy to befriend and trustworthy as well. He seems to be interested in the magic that Cyril does (but they're actually mostly tricks).

His newly given skin allows him to be more open with other dragons - he's starting to become better at magic too. Some of the younger dragons like to listen to him play with his wooden pipeflute, which he had eventually became really good at playing.
