There, he had a life of tranquility, and it was filled with personal riches. They were anything from fields of flowers in all shades of blue, some luminescent and some not, to soft silks and perfectly rounded smooth stones or scales. He even had a hidden passion for writing and arts, shared only with the dragons that he trusted deeply. 
He had a lover, too. Even if she could never hope to grasp its immensity, she had always loved space and everything that it held. Her pink eyes held fast to the sky each time the sun sank below the horizon. She loved it, just as much as he loved her, too. "Your gembond looks like the stars themselves," she told him one morning, "against your feathers as dark as the night sky." And so he painted the sky and its moods for her. He painted her sunrises and dusky landscapes, the stars over churning oceans, and storms giving way to evening sunsets. He painted her riches and follies, and together, the two of them thought that their lives would forever remain peaceful and exuberant. It didn't last as long as they would've wanted. The island was infiltrated by the Shade, and he, along with many other dragons living there, was pressed to flee from it after attempts to defend it were met with grave failure. Although he escaped, she was lost in the chaos. |

JOURNEYING
Many years passed, and he grew older. He discarded his previous name, and instead began to respond to the name Lesath. He became less verbose, and more private. His passion for words and art died as he travelled, scouring the lands for somewhere new to call home.
Initially, what he found instead was Adhara, an Imperial that also once lived on the island ravaged by the Shade.
Even if they shared little in common, the two of them teamed up on their journey through harsh lands, and unyielding enemies. Lesath had acquired a sword, but Adhara tired quickly, and the Coatl traded in his blade for a spell book. As a result, he learned how to heal, and wield magic to strategically support him from behind. The two of them began to silently understand each other.
It wasn't until later, that their travels would lead them nearer to the Starfall Isles. Word at Sornieth's great Marketplace of an eccentric Hold on the coast of the Crystalspine Reaches, found its way to Lesath. In the humming tone that he'd learned to morph into a pleasant melody, he explained the pair's goal, and the two soon started on their way again, with renewed hope of a place that would accept them.
Near the Isles themselves, he would be grateful of his decision to learn healing spells. The enemies had gotten stronger and more numerous beyond that point. Not even stray creatures from other lands were safe. Although the two of them were managing, it wouldn't be long before Lesath came across an injured Blue Tang Hippogriff stranded on one of the crystal growths rising from the ocean.
Overcome with sympathy, the Coatl healed it, and so began their eventual and inseparable companionship. Since then, he has always been accompanied by it. It aided the two dragons in their fights to come, until finally, they reached their goal.
They were met by Alshain, Clan Cygnus' elder. He easily saw how weary the trio was. They were invited into Shelyak's inn immediately, for food and rest.
