처음 아이는 작고 여려서 겁을 잔뜩 먹고 제 짝의 손을 꼭 잡고있더랬다. 어지간한 늙은 나무를 훌쩍 넘는 용들이 저만 바라보고있으니 무서웠겠지. 간만에 보는 어린 용이라 그들도 제법 설렜을 것이다. 어쩌겠는가, 그 덩치를 탓할 수 밖에.
그랬던 아이는 지금 짝과 함께 예쁜 돌을 찾는 답시고 돋보기를 들고 사방팔방 뛰어다니고 있었다. 드디어 찾았다며 쪼르르 자랑하러 오는 아이의 곁에는 항상 달콤한 바람이 맴돌았다. 마녀의 아들, 아마 아이도 마법에 재능이 있을것이다. 백야는 가만히 아이의 머리를 쓰다듬었다. 윽시 이쁜 돌이구마.
