Biography
Quartz has a slightly bad reputation due to her menacing appearance and her sometimes cold personality. She has no patience for things that are unimportant, and often tends to keep to herself because she is quite cynical. If you get to know her, however, you’ll realize that she isn’t as mean as she looks, and as long as you don’t annoy her, you’ll get along remarkably well.
Quartz was one of the war’s strongest supporters. She had been plotting to overthrow Freedom and Kaiser long before it was suspected they were stealing. She was among the few dragons who pushed for bloodshed during these desperate times. Althouh she wasn’t the best battler, she proved to be an effective stragesist along with Sycamore, and the two bonded. Quartz was a main advisor to Draconia and Cuddles, though she blames herself for Cuddles’ death. Cuddles considered retreating, and Quartz argued against it, saying that with one more push, they could win. However, this lead to Cuddles’ death, and Quartz never really forgave herself for it. Although nobody else knew, she knew that it was her fault. This was when she shut out everyone else. She ignored most of the news on the war effort and slept most if the day, slowly wasting away. Sycamore saw what was happening and tried to help her, eventually convincing her to come out of her stupor. Quartz returned as strong as ever, charging into the Fourth Battle with the rest of her Clan. She saw no problem in setting bait and a trap, saying that, “War is war.” She wasn’t among those out to get Nightmare, but instead focused in distractions. She was an okay fighter, but she knew that she couldn’t always win without playing dirty. During the battle, she waited for her allies to attack and then attacked the enemies they were fighting from behind. Although it was fighting dirty, it was a legitimate strategy that helped her and her allies in the Fourth Battle. Quartz was not on the front lines in the Final Battle. She chose to assist Maestra instead, helping to heal the wounds if injured dragons. Quartz was nearly killed by a stray Ice Bolt attack, but managed to dodge most of it, though it resulted in one of her feet being frozen in ice. She tried ti thaw herself out by biting the ice but to no avail. She managed to get out, however, getting Ripple to melt the ice with repeated blasts of water. After the war, Quartz became an influential member of the Clan. Though she remained cynical and non-trusting, she often attended Gatherings and was a good alternative to Dantris due to her strategic capabilities. Although reluctant, after Sycamore’s repeated begging, she finally decided to have hatchlings with him. Quartz was afraid of having hatchlings, but she knew that Sycamore would be there for her, and to her, that was all that really mattered.
