Jarwa claims to have traveled all the waters of Sornieth, sailing from the Tsunami Flats where he was hatched in a ship he built himself. He's been through the treacherous rapids of the Reedcleft Ascent, the freezing glaciers of the Southern Icefield, and even the unpredictable magical currents surrounding the Observatory. Over the years of wandering the seas, he made a respectable fortune in the business of shipping exotic wares from flight to flight, but his faithful ship finally met its end when it collided with a bad-tempered Mantarune. Jarwa lost his oldest companion, his crew, and his livelihood, but he managed to make it to the coast of the Sunbeam Ruins with a few new scars and a missing right wing. He now wears a weighted prosthetic attached to the stump to serve as a counterweight. He can also use the hook on the end of it to grab onto things, and claims it's much more useful for running a ship than his old wing ever was.

Now he remains with Clan Lamprey as he gathers the materials to build another ship and start anew. Since he has no way to get to his scattered treasure hoards without a ship to sail there, he's paying his board by fishing for the clan for now. For some clan members, the wild stories he tells are enough to make him valuable.

As Jarwa gathers materials, he is also attempting to recruit some of Clan Lamprey's members for his new crew. So far, he's had little luck. Shrike is eager to join him when he sails again, but everyone knows Shrike isn't to be trusted.
