history/personality Iacchus is very reserved. He came to the lair as the fifth leafbelly and marked the official start of the leafbelly subclan. He had never really considered himself a part of the subclan, despite his genetic resemblance to the other dragons. Perhaps this is why he survived the subclan purge when most of the leafbellies took flight for other lairs. He is a constant voice for peace and equality in the lair; he never cared for Isadore's methods of enforcing rules (he had talked to Israfel about that, but the wildclaw only sang him a song about doves and gently falling leaves) and he didn't really like how the rest of the clan treated Terrha (he has tried to talk to her as well, but he didn't understand anything that she said. He gave her a respectable amount of space). His biggest "project" was trying to get Delphi to stop scamming the other dragons in the lair, especially visitors, with her games and betting schemes. But she didn't listen. There was something about her stubbornness that he loved. Unfortunately she left the lair with the rest of the Leafbellies. Some time later, her daughter Pythia came to the lair and they had a relationship before she too sought other winds. Underneath it all there might be something that Iacchus isn't telling the rest of the clan... Iacchus had been part of the Wanderer's Lair, now the House of Windborne Sand, for several years, and he had seen the winds blow soft and hard. The clan had just been rocked by a devastating storm that had sent many dragons away. Iacchus didn't weep for their loss - he didn't know them that well. Instead, he took record of what had happened, for his own peace of mind. Because he couldn't get into the Archive with his size, he asked Nerd to bring him the scrolls that she had written that recounted exactly what had happened. Nerd brought them to him, and supervised as he read before taking them back. After reading about how the rest of the clan had been affected, he decided to try and connect with someone else in the clan. He left his quiet solitude in the bamboo, where he hunted for bugs for the insect-eaters of the House (he himself preferred oysters or small birds), and gracefully strode into the main clan area. Some of the newer dragons were startled by his appearance, but the older dragons nodded in greeting. He asked for the news and got a recap from Eypre - he was surprised to learn that only Israfel of the Leafbellies remained - all the rest were gone. He wandered around a bit, until he came to the expanded hatchlings playground. It was snack time, and Tobii was doing her best to feed the screaming babies - sugary snacks were going everywhere! One hit Iacchus in the face, and he uncharacteristically snapped. "DO YOU WANT ANTS? BECAUSE THIS IS HOW YOU GET ANTS." A small spiral twisted around his leg and chirped back: "Ants are my favourite!". known affiliates
