Setsu might be the oldest dragon in the clan after Dewdrop. She was a mother of many in her younger days. In her time as an empty-nester, she took care of the many un-paired familiars in the clan, a duty that is still hers more often than not. However, she always makes time for her daughter Soleil, spoiling the young dragon with endless affection.

She trusts Dewdrop and the clan's other old fighters implicitly, and decides without fuss to follow them when they take Cilla and Hemlock's side. Seeing Kestrel and Tachyon take the same side brings her great relief, and for a while she thinks that her mate will follow.

But Hazel is set against them. Refusing to change her mind even when it becomes clear that all her loved ones will be against her, Hazel very nearly takes up arms against them to keep them away from the Forbidden Portal. In the end, she cannot do it. But her determination stirs an uneasy feeling in Setsu, which lingers even now.
