Biography
Alyehn
Uh-oh, looks like this adventurous skydancer wandered a little too far from his lair (koemiri, 98655), and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the urge to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here.
Adventurous little Alyehn had always dreamed of traveling and seeing the world. He often heard from the elder dragons of the clan of their travels throughout the land. He grew up wanting to see the world for himself. His parents supported him so long as he was happy. His mother hugged him before he left and reminded him to often send letters back home. The matriarch quietly approached and told him that, should he wish to return home to rest, his clan will be happily welcome him back. Excitement filled him. With a skip in his step, he set off on his journey...

Alyehn set off, flying east in hopes of finding some adventure. Without realizing it, he strayed a little further south than he had intended... he crossed into the Windswept Plateau and before he knew it he got caught up in a whirlwind. Managing to fight his way through it, the wind spat him out, throwing him South into the Icefield.
Snowball found him wandering around as she was out scavenging and invited him back to her lair. There, he was able to rest from his travel and gain advice from the various members of the clan. They offered to take him out and teach him fighting techniques so he was better prepared to face his journey, but Alyehn was too anxious to continue his adventure, and so he declined, departing again after only a few days.
Before he left, the dragons in the Ice clan presented him with a cape, a handkerchief, and some socks to help him stay warm as he traveled in the Icefields. Neptune, however, couldn't let him leave with just that. She insisted that he take a belt and some gauntlets to help him on his journey as well. Well equipped with these new gifts, Alyehn set out once again to explore the world.
Alyehn flew on and on until his wings grew sore and he felt dizzy. He began to plummet and became caught in the Twisting Crescendo, unable to escape the high winds. Just as he had accepted his fate, a bright red Spiral appeared and pulled him out, navigating easily through the wind. As soon as they were to safety, the Spiral introduced herself. Her name was Rue, and she was part of a large clan of Wind dragons. Exhausted and hungry, Alyehn begged to be allowed to stay for the night. Rue introduced him to Queen Esther, who quickly agreed to his request.
Alyehn slept well for the first time since he'd left the Ice clan. The next morning he was quickly latched onto by all the hatchlings, who begged to hear tales of the outside world. That was when he met Enchant - a former wanderer like himself who had found her home in the clan he'd stumbled into. Alyehn decided to stay for a while, and grew close to both Enchant and Rue. However, when Rue decided to leave and find a new home, he decided it was time to move on, too.
On his journey, Alyehn stumbled into a harsh, barren region. Long lines of electricity could be seen in the sky, seemingly leading to nowhere. Weary from his travels, he slowed his speed, and saw a blue light shining in the distance. It turned out to be a lightning nest, guarded by six angry dragons. They were not pleased to see a stranger so close to their unborn, so Alyehn kept his distance. A blue nocturne had flown to the scene to find out what the commotion was, and quickly apologized and welcomed the skydancer. He showed Alyehn around, and him offered lunch. After a quick bite, Alyehn introduced himself to half the clan. As a welcome gift, the clan bestowed upon him a simple iron necklace, engraved with the initials "L.I.". Belly full and tongue tired, Alyehn's eyes began to droop. The girl Asacari beckoned him to sleep.
When he awoke, he was in a new area. Was it all just a dream? He checked his neck. The iron necklace was still there. Puzzled, Alyehn shrugged and continued on his journey...
Alyehn had returned home. His mother was overjoyed to see him, and his father was proud of him. His sisters giggled as he flopped into his favorite patch of sunlight, informing him that their mother was expecting hatchlings once more. His mother smiled and said that he was blessed to come and see his younger siblings hatch. His little siblings were eager to hear of his stories of adventure, never leaving him alone. In fact, he was quite popular amongst the hatchlings of the clan. A few days later, although Alyehn was happy to be back home, his wanderlust became overwhelming, and, after saying goodbye to his dear clan, he set off once again...
As Alyehn left, he couldn't help but think back to the first lair he had visited after leaving home the first time. He wondered how they were until curiosity got the best of him and he headed back to the Southern Icefield. After some wondering, he was able to find his friends once again. He received a warm welcome from them and enjoyed a very hospitable and lengthy stay. His adventuresome spirit finally got the better of him, however, and he left once again to continue his adventure around the world...
Alyehn enjoyed his stay in Molten Scars. The clan was small, though full of dragons with character; it's cozy. One day Alyehn realized that many of the dragons (the clan leader included) are running about the lair like a headless dodo. When he asked what was going on, Sveta, the clan leader's daughter, explained that the clan was getting ready to move to Arcane. Alyehn was confused to hear this sudden news. Apparently the lair keeper's mentor found out about the eldritch project he left half-hidden away in the academy's library a decade ago. Now the lair keeper has to go back and work at the academy to clean up the mess, and the clan has decided to follow him all the way to the Starfall Isles.
Alyehn figured that there was enough confusion for the clan without him adding on to it. He thanked his hosts and politely flew off to see a different part of the world.
One day, Alyehn cam across a sandy atoll where the sun warmed the beach and deep, crystal-clear pools were protected from the surf. He alighted to rest in the sun, but soon discovered he was not alone. He was, in fact, on the doorstep of a water lair. This was a new experience for the traveler and when the inhabitants proved friendly, he accepted their matriarch's invitation to stay. He was a little surprised when he realised how many other travelers of various types were present in one lair. He didn't think there was a single flight un-represented here. There was one other who professed to wanderlust like himself, an absent minded Arcane fae named Thornclaw who had accepted a lover's token from one of the residents and was awaiting nest space. They shared stories of their travels, but eventually, the day came when the idyllic, sunwarmed sands lost their appeal and the sky called again. He said goodbye to his new friends and left for new adventures, well rested and eager to see what adventures awaited...
On his third trip home, Alyehn was happily greeted by the clan, always pleased to see him. The hatchlings rushed to hear his stories of adventure. During his travels, he appeared to have lost his wolf cape, but his mother quickly knitted him a warm sweater so he'd be nice and snug during his future travels in the upcoming winter.
A whimsy of a flight drew this skydancer dangerously deep into the Viridian Labyrinth, and near-stumbling right into a large clan's territory! They approached him curiously, dragons of all shapes and sizes and colors, and at first their attention seemed a little daunting. But once it was clear that he came in peace, the Nature clan welcomed him warmly. He had scarcely spent a day with the clan before another visitor arrived; a coatl traveler who had been born to the clan many moons ago. With the matron's help in translating, the coatl proved to be a tried and true wanderer as well! And quite charming, to boot! The two enraptured each other with their tales, thoroughly enjoying one another's company even without the matron fae's translations. No words needed to be said; the two would certainly venture off together, their bond known in their smiles. In a show of affectionate admiration, Alyehn gifted her some of his trinkets, having felt too cluttered anyway.
Alyehn really did love the cold of the Icefields, and as his companion had yet to travel there, he convinced her to come with him. Originally planning to visit his old friends, the pair became lost and ended up in the Frigid Floes.
He eventually found another ice clan willing to give him a chance. Alyehn was designated a shallow den on the iceberg's surface to share with Myca while they waited through the initiation period. After a series of non-stop tests, challenges, and assessments, he was finally allowed into the iceberg itself.
Alyehn wanted to stay and rest up, but Myca hated to cold. They eventually had to stay, though, when the coatl became sick. She was well-tended to, and in a matter of days, the pair was off to see the world again.
As they flew onwards, the light they used to find their way was slowly swallowed up by the trees, showing the pair that they had reached the Tangled Wood. Myca moved more confidently than Alyehn, as she recognized this area of the wood. It wasn't exactly the same as before, but eventually the pair found their was to the Underground, a lair buried deep underneath the earth. Although the dragons were friendly enough, Alyehn and Myca only stayed for a few days, moving on quietly.
Their next stop in the Starfall Isles was a brief one: Myca was not satisfied with the hospitality of the dragons of Deoradhan-Kunibert; it was too similar to their previous stop. This didn't particularly bother Alyehn, but he followed Myca's lead.
Next, Myca and Alyehn stopped for a long while in the Viridian Labyrinth, where they had a relaxing stay. Myca made several friends, but though he kept more to himself, Alyehn made friends with a guardian whom, upon seeing the incomplete state of Alyehn's armor, provided him with tail cuffs to further protect him in future journeys.
