Biography

==

Ikni originally came from the fiery lands where she had the hottest, crimson skin of nearly any dragon there. Perhaps it was some unrestrained fire magic at work, or she had simply absorbed the lands harsh element at her birth. Whatever the cause she struggled to work with metals when they would simply melt in her claws, so she couldnt be the same as the others there. She left to try and find a solution to her problem leaving a blazing trail in her wake. She soon found the cold tundras and began to work for the Icewarden, she was particularly useful for sculpting stubborn, hard ice, though more as a tool than an artist. She also made friends with an impish Speedy hedgehog, she might be a good natured, innocent dragon, but she had no trouble keeping company with rebels. Then one day the snow and ice that used to instantly melt around her slowly began to close in and began to settle on her skin. A thin frost began to form over her, though underneath she was still as warm as ever. Eventually she became covered in a shell of living frost, possibly a gift from the Icewarden after all the work she had helped him with. Extremely happy with this new coat she added the word for snow on the end of her name and set off home, her once burning red body now a cold icy white with blue hues. But as she neared the magma riddled landscape she noticed the ice on her body was starting to melt. With a yelp she immediately headed back the other way, though not before she had completely lost the ice on her face and fingers.

Flying back through the freezing gales between the Icefield and Windswept plateau managed to save some of her icy coating, but the missing patches refused to grow back. When back on the freezing tundras a kindly frost dragon offered her a gift of enchanted icicle chains meant to freeze and trap dragons wings, but even they did not bring all of the snowy shell back. Heartbroken at everything that had happened Iknimauja just left and kept flying forwards until she grew tired and settled on a large crystal outcrop in the Starfall Isles. There wasnt much further for her to go anyway, and no where to go back to. She settled down sobbing to herself when Shorkiero's handsome, blue, tundra face appeared. He had heard her crying and had come to investigate like the curious dragon he was. By then her appearance was startling, the once thick coat of living frost had melted into a thinner coat of pure ice which shimmered beautifully in an ethereal way. It was like northern lights with vibrant reds and oranges showing some of her true fiery colours underneath. She looked like what she was, a powerful flame wrapped in delicate ice. Shor was so taken by her beauty he brought the upset little dragon home with him where she was greeted warmly by most of the sociable dragons. Now she seems to have taken up permanent residence helping wherever she can, whether its helping Taeshalach (who she made good friends with since she was happy to meet another fire dragon) with his forging from afar, or cooling down over heating dragons on hot days.

Whether the weather was cold or hot she was always happy to curl up on Shorkiero's soft fur, and due to his breed he didnt feel her coldness despite having never been to the Icefields himself. They became very close, always cuddling up to sleep near the entrance where it was coldest in the lair, they were rarely apart. The couple had plenty of offspring, and a happy few years together until the time came for Shorkiero to be exalted. Although she managed to keep composed sending him off with a sad smile as she understood the call to be exalted the raging fire inside her nearly melted through the remaining ice. If not for the chains that bound what snow was on her wings she may have lost it all and blazed the lair. Eventually she calmed down and stayed solemn by the lair entrance where they used to sit. With Tae retired to the back of the lair and Shor gone she doesnt do much now other than curl up there and watch the comings and goings of the other dragons.
