THE DOOMSAYER
Paranoia just showed up one day, and is so named simply because he refuses to tell anyone his real one.
He is a doomsayer, predictor of all that is terrifying and catastrophic. Every day heralds a new vision of death and destruction, a new shadow rising with the sun in the east and spreading itself over the land.
None of his predictions have actually come true, of course. But he doesn't see that as any reason to doubt their legitimacy.
The rest of the clan largely finds his presence offputting and/or irritating, depending on just how insistent he's being regarding that day's visions of doom. Selia, however, tolerates him far more than she would most others, and he is allowed free reign of the island under her express orders. The guilt at the loss of her former clan eats at her, and she is willing to listen to even the most absurd theories if they might allow her to avoid additional disaster. Paranoia takes maximum advantage of this, assuring her that she needs him if this newer clan is to survive.
A jeweled band across his arm declares his allegiance to what most presume to be his home flight (his eyes are white from blindness, obscuring his exact origins), but Paranoia seems oddly self-conscious about allowing others to see it. He keeps it hidden beneath his cloak, and withdraws into silence and sullenness if it is ever mentioned.
He seems to have a soft spot for children, surprisingly.
