Wandering the world on her own, she managed to find her way to the Draikar Clan while she was just a hatchling and was quickly accepted by the dragons of the clan. She was taken under Eldarin's wing and shown the life of a Light dragon. Shortly thereafter she chose to make the Draikar Lair her home and became a permanent member of the clan, though she has decided to start writing letters to her mother back in the clan of her origin.



First letter home:

My dearest mother,

I apologize for taking so long to write you. Things have been very busy in my new home, and only now have I had the chance to put pen to paper.

You will be pleased to know that I have found a home with another clan. They are the Draikar Clan of Light Flight. I know you would have probably preferred that I remain in the Shadow Flight, but the dragons I've met here have truly made me feel at home. I traveled far to get here, and the leader of this clan, Eldarin, did not even hesitate to bring me in as a hatchling and give me a place to stay. He and the others are so very kind to me.

The Light Flight teaches the importance of truth, and this clan lives it completely. Eldarin tells me that the Draikar Clan are Guardians of Light. However, he does not mean this as it may sound. Rather than being warriors or the like, they guard each other and anyone they find from things like sadness and despair. Draikar Clan works to help those in need of emotional support, and they seek to find the truth in all things, and learn from that truth how to better help those who are in pain of one form or another. They truly seem to care about everyone! I know I have felt their kind hearts. I was admittedly nearly starved from my travels when I found my way to their lair, and they fed me and showed me kindness almost as much as you, yourself, would have.

The things they teach....it makes sense to me, and I enjoy every lesson I learn under their instruction. As I've grown I've started helping with the gathering of supplies so that the Clan can continue to prosper. They even found me my own familiar to keep me company on my travels away from the lair.

I'm afraid I haven't found a mate yet, but there is no reason to at the moment. The lair is quite full right now. A few others have joined us since I arrived and there isn't really any space for hatchlings at the moment. Some dragons are considering moving out to find homes elsewhere, or perhaps some might join the Lightweaver to serve her directly in leading the Flight, itself. For now, though, we are all content to remain here and enjoy each others' company.

There is another thing I find most intriguing, as well. With the absence of any Flight celebrations this month, the whole clan is instead preparing for their own little celebration. They call it the Celebration of Light and Love. I guess they believe that it's important to celebrate the ideals of kindness and compassion toward others, and the concept of taking care of each other. They say they will be decorating for the celebration in a few days, and that the celebration itself will be held for one day and night sometime next week, I think. Many of us have not heard of this celebration before, but Eldarin tells us that we will enjoy it. He says he will teach us some songs so we can all sing together and enjoy the event all the more.

For now, I'll will leave you to ponder these things, Mother, but I will try to write again soon. I hope this letter finds you and the Clan well.
