Sarpedon Clan Patriarch Voice of the Family, Sarpedon of the First and Honoured Father of Hearts His Story Sarpedon was born into a massive clan in the Crystalspine Reaches of the Starfall Isles. He lived happily for a few short years, growing very close to his brother and nestmate Patrocles. Sarpedon had an even temper and a gentle spirit, while his brother was filled with wanderlust and youthful curiousity. They were happy hatchlings, free to explore and play to their hearts' content in safety on their clan's island. Patrocles led Sarpedon and the other hatchlings in imagination and exploration. As it must in grand stories, tragedy struck down the joyful, tainting childhood, and the two brothers were forced to grow up too early. A bitter rivalry was fanned into the flames of war. In the first days of the fighting Sarpedon could not stand the fronts of battle and became a healer's apprentice instead of fighting himself. But the more injuries he tended and loved ones he watched die, the more angry he became. At last, the clans had all but wiped one another out, and four of his clan remained. One last time they flew into battle, and Sarpedon hung back at first as the only healer, drawing more magical power than he had ever felt, his emotion fueling him. He launched himself into the fray when his magic had been drained. His inexperience showed a weakness in his self-defense, and Patroclus was killed. Watching him brother's fall Sarpedon was blind with anger. He fell with massive wounds in his sides and on his neck. He awoke in a cool dark place, his wounds dressed in a midly burning paste and wrapped in beige bandages. A long few minutes passed before he realized that it was not the dark night sky above him, but a massive wing. A Guardian as young as he had taken him him. She protected him and guarded him through the weeks of his recovery, and could not let him out of her sight even after he was fully capable. Thus Sarpedon and Arethusa grew to love one another, and with nowhere else to go, they founded a clan of their own beginning with their children, taking in others, until they grew to be the great clan they have become. Arethusa is protector, stern leader, and guide, with Sarpedon is mentor, father and friend to all. The clan grows around them, with their relationship holding the clan together. Sarpedon spends much of his time in the nesting grounds, playing with hatchlings or mentoring and caring for the other dragons. He has retained some skill as a healer, but prefers not to enter battle unless absolutely necessary.

Bio/Lore Notes to come back to: Sarpedon is my random progen. He is Arethusa's charge and is a very gentle, fatherly figure and is very involved in the day to day of the clan. His title, voice of the family, means that he is the ambassador for the first family not only to the greats and the six but to every dragon in the clan, and he is often a gentle voice of measured wisdom and spends his free time in the nursery, the healer's homes, or the library. He is very approachable and probably the most respected and adored dragon in the clan. Evadne and Ariadne are his daughters, he also raised most of the first family from when they were young hatchlings.
