The sanctuary is an unusual and magical place, but perhaps the most striking thing about it is the abundance of plant life within the cave. The icefield in general is not hospitable to many plants and the variety of plants in the sanctuary is maintained by four dragons by use their elemental powers in order to feed the clan.

Dolomite is one of the clan's gardeners and takes great pride in her work. She loves the plants she cares for and is very protective of the plants, the sanctuary and especially her twin, Agate, and her mate, Iolite.
She's very confident and assertive and she gets along well with most of the clan, although she doesn't really like submitting to authority figures like Amethyst and Amber. She also has a short temper and frequently gets into fights with Jet.
She has a soft spot for cute females and spends her free time spoiling Iolite.
