Almost everyone knows better than to ask a Shadow Sprite for wishes.

Erik is the ruler of the world. Yes, the whole world. No, not a deity. The King, in fact. You just don't know it because the last time he tried to enforce his authority his subjects took it into their heads that if he's responsible for the running of the world he should also be held accountable for the things they don't like about it, and things got unpleasant.

Now, he's perfectly content to leave the insignificant management matters to the deities, provided he gets his other two wishes (the wishes are a long story, but they are why he's the King of the World): endless wealth and the most beautiful wryma in the world as his mate. He tends to spend his endless wealth on maintaining himself and his lovers in the style to which they should be accustomed, and likes giving snottily expensive presents.

While having the most beautiful wryma in the world as his mate means that he hardly deigns to look at other females, he does enjoy keeping several drake lovers to occupy all that time he doesn't spend managing his kingdom. Only the most beautiful for Erik, of course, and of those the most handsom is Razahl, though the drake never stays long and is quickly off again on his ambassadorial duties for his own clan; nevertheless, Erik is insufferably smug rightfully proud of having won so gorgeous a lover-- though of course it is only right that Razahl be impressed by his status-- and takes great pleasure in the time Razahl does spend with him and in sending gifts particularly suited to Razahl's expensive taste.
