Biography

LW Achilles (Greek – ‘glory of nations’) - Progenitor of the 'Legend' line, five descendants.

Clan Role – Lore Master of Combat, in charge of training all clan members in fighting skills.

Mate - Dhiona. Achilles has bred with several females at Morgul's direction, even being honoured to be chosen as Belfalas' mate once. After years of close friendship, he and the clan's matriarch Dhiona were permitted to become life mates by Morgul, a decision that brought much joy to the entire clan.

Family – Achilles’ currently has no children within the clan, he is hugely fond of his family and hopes that one day he and Dhiona will produce a hatchling that Morgul deems can stay in the clan. Before he was mated to Dhiona, two of his son's were previously allowed to stay by Morgul, but after a time both wished to leave to sever the Flamecaller herself. Achilles’ only comfort was that both sons sired hatchlings before they departed, and Achilles currently has five descendants in the clan, Annuminas, Mithril, Loki, Neoptolemus and Luna, who he adores. His mating with Belfalas, one of Morgul’s heirs, means that two of his descendants, Annuminas and Mithril, are within the royal line. His first great, great grandchild, Mithril, was so stunning she was honoured with one of the few remaining wildclaw scrolls in existence, and all of his descendants are considered exceptionally beautiful. This has lead to Annuminas and Mithril being selected as half of the clan ambassadors. Loki and Neoptolemus rank highly in the clan, being head of the clan’s hoard and head of gathering respectively. Luna, as a guardian, is approaching the age where she will either leave the clan on the search for her charge or will choose to serve the Flamecaller for a time, which saddens Achilles, but he sees the necessity of it. He only hopes that Luna will have a last clutch while within the clan before she leaves, so he has another grand child close to home to dote on.

Bio – Achilles is a wonderful combination of extremely smart and laid back, much needed in a hot-headed fire clan. He is one of the strongest dragons in the SaF clan, and is often the one to break up fights that are almost constantly erupting among the younger dragons. Achilles, as a light-born dragon, has a thirst for knowledge and this coupled with his excellent snapper memory makes it no surprise that he was dubbed the Lore Master of Combat, his primary interest. He is the main physical combat teacher in the clan, responsible for training all dragons in basic fighting skills and conducting advanced combat training for those not specialising in offensive magic. At some point in time he comes into contact with every dragon in the SaF clan as Morgul insists all dragons should be able to fight at a basic level regardless of their clan role. He knows everyone, and is always chattering to anyone he meets as he strides through the clanholm’s territory, catching up with old students, teasing current ones and befriending hatchlings which will inevitably teach in the future. Achilles is slow to anger but if pushed to his breaking point, especially by youngsters not paying attention or disobeying him in battle school, his rages are legend. He is considered firm but fair by all, as the battle skills he teaches are crucial to the clan members so they can win new resources, protect themselves and their home and sever the Flamecaller.
Achilles is best friends with Dhiona (his life mate) and Pietro, a fellow Lore Master who teaches magical skills. Achilles' relaxed attitude towards life outside of combat matters means he gets on with pretty much everyone so he is casual friends with almost all the clan. He is very good friends with the clan’s other top fighters, including Ramsay, Ignis, Belfalas, Dagorlad, Islenska, Ruth, Kamoharai, Angelbane, Leoni, Oriso and Praetorian. Achilles trained almost all of these dragons, or helped hone their skills, and now they fight alongside each other in the various raids and battles Morgul decides upon. He is part of Belfalas’ Battle Squad along with Agmar, a young new recruit to this high rank who is showing every indication of being as good a fighter as his father, the near legendary Khazad.
Achilles has two assistants that help him run the huge battle school, Aspall and Ingot. The two are a mated pair, and combat Lore Seekers. Ingot specialises in researching battle stones and is in charge of the clan’s hoard of these artefacts. Aspall helps research new combat techniques and fighting styles, and also instructs some combat classes at the school as the growing clan often produces too many hatchlings for Achilles to train alone.
