Deadra Story:

Deadra had been a happy young dragon when she was younger. She had watched many come to the clan and leave. She never understood what it meant until one day. Her parents summoned her and her siblings to a small meeting. Deadra listened as they explained the story, that dragons would find clans to stay in, and they would stay in those clans till it was time to join the war with the element gods. They spoke of the different Element gods and explained what each did. Deadra was fascinated with this and listened intently. After the meeting Deadra and her siblings left to go talk about what they were just informed. She listened as most of her siblings decided to leave for other clans, feeling they would be better there. Some left, not wanting to join clans, not wanting responsibility that the parents had informed them of. Deadra was sad as she watched them leave, but she understood this was life.

As the years passed, she grew wiser. She never thought about being leader of the clan, though she would be a great leader. She mothered everyone in the clan. She always helped the weak, the young, the old. New members or old members, she never cared what or where the others came from. She was happy to always make friends. The elder, Salontia, had always helped her with everything. Though one day her parents got ill, and it didn't seem like they would get better. Deadra stepped in then as she had seen the clan was falling apart without he parents. She started to guide the clan with the help of Salontia. Deadra did everything she could in order to save her clan and family. She had been in and out of mateships, but hadn't found the right mate for herself yet.

They days seemed to grow shorter and colder, and the nights longer and harsher. The snow was falling, blocking out almost everything. None of the hunters or warriors could go out. The clan would go hungry, except Deadra wouldn't give up. She was out and hunting for her clan, though while she was fishing she fell in. The water was harsh, fast, and freezing. She sank to the bottom in no time unable to move. She had thought it was the end for her, but that was the only beginning for her. When she opened her eyes, she was face to ace with all the element gods. Each stood around, looking down at her small form. Instead of being afraid, she stiffly got up and bowed to them.

"I am Deadra, daughter of Rainbowkitten leader of KageAkuma, and Jay an ex-rouge but now loyal member of my mothers clan."

She spoke out calmly, keeping herself calm before lifting her head to the Gods. Shadowbinder spoke to her, as she is the goddess over Shadowflight.

"Troubling times shall fall, shadows will rise above all and it will not be my disciples fault. The world shall shift and it will need guidance."

She spoke and looked at Deadra before she touched her snout with her own. Deadra was surprised but bowed her head in honor of the great dragon. She listened as Shadowbinder told her to return to her life, she would be needed. With that, Deadra's eyes snapped open. She looked up to see a dragon she had never seen before bent over her and trying to revive her. She was startled at first but realized what he was doing. She spoke after admiring the male, seeing that he had some patterns she had never seen before. She introduced herself and found that his name was Bloodshed. After a bit they returned to the clan where Deadra called a meeting. She introduced him and told them that he had saved her. After the clan was settled down and eating, Deadra brought food to her parents and to Salotina who was with them. She told them about what had happened with the gods and how Bloodshed had saved her from the water. They were surprised and talked about the warning, deciding it would be best to keep it a secret from the clan for now. They didn't need the clan to fully panic over something that wasn't understood yet.

The days slowly began to grow long again and the world was warming up. The clan was thriving, Rainbowkitten and Jay were doing much better. Which made things easier, and made Deadra happier. She was able to go back to her old position, though she became close to Bloodshed. The two had slowly become best friends, mainly to Bloodshed's non-stop pestering to become her friend. Deadra hadn't forgotten her encounter though, keeping it always in the back of her mind. She shared almost everything with Bloodshed, except for that one memory.

One day, everyone had woken up and it was raining hard. After checking on everyone, Deadra had returned to lay next to her best friend to get some more rest. Bloodshed placed a wing over her to help warm her up, though the cold never seemed to bother her anymore. Right as she was about to dose off, Salonia ran into the den.

"Deadra, I need you now!"

She said before quickly running off. Deadra, who had been almost asleep was now wide awake and on the move. She was running as fast as she could to stay caught up with the elder. She ran into the leader den to see the elder standing next to the nest. Deadra ran over quickly as she saw her parent's breathing was slowed down. They lifted their heads to look at her, with soft and loving eyes.

"Deadra, you are a brave and wonderful dragon. You love everyone the same. We are so proud of you. Now, it is your turn. Do not fear."

They said, rubbing their heads with hers, before their heads slowly fell limp and hit the nest with a soft thud. Thunder sounded loudly over the land, but the screaming roar that left Deadra was louder. She frantically butted her head against her parent's now limp head. They didn't respond to her frantic pleas. She slowly sank to the floor, sobbing and begging her parents to wake up. The rain grew harder and louder as she laid at the nest, her head bowed sadly. Broken sobs left her saddened body. She couldn't bring herself to move as she watched the limp bodies. She didn't notice when Bloodshed had joined her and had pulled her close. Days went by and she didn't move, not even after the bodies were taken for burial. When it was time for her to say something, she came out to the area and stood at the front of the clan. She spoke out in a soft, but strong voice.

"My parents have lead this clan for many years. They are brave, strong warriors. Gentle and loving parents. Smart and amazing dragons and individuals. They proved it does not matter where you come from, it's what's on the inside that counts. They now serve our Goddess Shadowbinder. They passed their leadership to me. I will never be able to fill their claws and wings, but I shall fill my own out. I shall follow in the path they have cleared. I promise to guide and protect you all no matter what. Salontia, will you stand by me and help me. Guide me, for I am still young. I will need your wisdom, along with your mates."

She said calmly though she still looked broken. She smiled when Salontia and her mate nodded. Deadra turned to Bloodshed, they needed no words as they looked at one another. Bloodshed walked to Deadra and butted his head against hers. She smiled and watched him as she rubbed her head against his. After a few moments she watched as her parents bodies were placed in the earth to allow their spirits to be free and to join with their goddess. Deadra watched, still broken but she knew that now would be time to lead her clan. They needed her more then anything. She lifted her head up slowly and looked over her clan before she lifted her head up and let out a blast of her shadow breath. The clan lifted their heads, painting a rainbow of elemental breath in the sky in honor of their passed leader. Afterwards Deadra stepped down and smiled softly, it was time for them all to go off to the swimming hole and have some time to relax and socialize. They all needed to relax now. She smiled as she lead the clan, some dragons ran in front of her. She didn't mind as they were the youngsters of the clan. She smiled as Bloodshed joined her and walked with her. The clan spent the rest of the day as a whole. Chattering, catching up and re-writing those missing bonds.

Days went by, and Deadra was proud of her clan, watching them all happily. Though Bloodshed surprised her one day. He had showed up unexpected, he had nothing with him as he smiled softly to her. He asked for a clan meeting to be called and she nodded to call it. She was scared though. She was scared that Bloodshed was going to leave now. She didn't want him to go, and despite how bad she would want to follow him, she would not do so. She would not leave her clan to fend for themselves. At the meeting she stood tall and looked down at Bloodshed who was on the ground to face the clan.
