"I am a student here. At the school. I want to learn to read." Unlike some assassins in the Brotherhood, he wasn't simply born into it; he decided to actively seek them. There's a certain grace in the hunt, the stalk, and the kill...and when rumors of an entire guild of murderers for hire reached him, he made every effort to find them, leaving plenty of bodies in his wake. He wanted to prove himself to them. And they were clearly happy enough to take him in, when he found them. It made him...glad, at the time. He felt like he was truly home. "Home" it had stayed, too, for such a long time. He remained one of the more rank-and-file assassins, sure, but that isn't to say he isn't formidable in his own right. His skills at camouflaging himself as a student in various places of learning were and are of particular use to his leaders, after all; he has always been a learner at heart, and it is perfectly easy for him to slip into that guise, all the while using it to get closer and closer to his targets. Well...it is still a kind of learning, is it not? Just not the kind that outsiders expect out of him. And unfortunately for his marks, he learns all too quickly, in ways that usually end with his targets no longer of the living world. But...as of late, he has been slightly more distant towards the others, and seems to drift further and further away from the Brotherhood, though he has not quite dared to depart from them entirely.
