______ Ejected from his library in the Carrion Canyon, Esmir fights to restore his land and power in the Shifting Expanse, mad or not.

______ Born in 239 AD to Valten of Arcane and Kilika of Plague in the Shifting Expanse, Esmir was a talented young dragon with a passion for machinery. Seeing this talent, the two parents decided to send Esmir to the Stormcatcher, who had smaller exalts than the other deities at the time. Esmir, in due time, proved to be one of the Stormcatcher's greatest assistants and was given the Electric Sparkle; a mark given by the Stormcatcher for being a great assistant; something he hasn't given out in a thousand years.

After the Electric Sparkle, Stormcatcher gave Esmir the position of Head Librarian Guard of the Machinery Library; a place where the Stormcatcher placed documents of his failed experiments. The Head Librarian Guard was a incredibly feared position, because most of the time, the people in there went mad. However, Esmir took it gladly, confident he would not fall to the same madness as the other Librarians had.
It took much longer, but Esmir went mad. Whatever he saw in the Machinery Library, he does not tell, but he went mad. He left the Library and walked to his former clan. They greeted him with warm welcomes. He slaughtered them all, and took a headdress his father wore. He massacred about 70% of the population in the Shifting Expanse, and made it the most dangerous place in Sornieth. Finally, the Stormcatcher himself stepped in, and trapped Esmir under the Tempest Spire itself to sleep for a hundred thousand years. Stories of Esmir became folktales, him being coined as the 'Mad Guardian' and the Machinery Library never had another Head Librarian Guard, now only guarded by the Stormcatcher himself.
But a few years before, Esmir awoke, and clawed himself up from near the Library. Spotting Clan Muspelheim from near, he decided to pose as a lonely traveler looking for a clan to stay in. And now, slowly he is gaining followers. And Esmir will wrench the Machinery Library from the Stormcatcher's talons, mad or not.
