Daryl is impatient, he was a drifter who wandered into the Clan's territory and Derloth welcomed him to stay if he wished. He decided he would, now he's the Clans best hunter. He has his share of scars from his past, but no one asks any questions about them, and he prefers it that way.

The only one he even slightly opens up to is Ligska, he trusts her implicitly and he does whatever needs to be done, whether it's hunting or killing unruly Clan members. If Derloth is around, Daryl isn't too far behind, he protects the Patriarch at all times, acting as a sort of bodyguard. (Not that Derloth needs it, but they have an unspoken agreement and Derloth doesn't mind.)

He doesn't talk much, keeping his distance from the others. When he drops off food, he simply drops it in front of Belladonna and leaves as quickly and silently as he appeared.

Several of the females have a crush on him, but he's not interested in breeding, he doesn't believe he's father material. (Even though he's super great with the hatchlings and helps XYY keep the more unruly ones in line.)

During his time here though he's been opening up more and more. Even if his bluntness has earned him some new scars he doesn't care. He's usually right anyway. Even so, he can often be found with Celeste, listening to her stories, or with XYY helping with the hatchlings when he's not hunting for more food for the clan.
