Biography

Argus
2z9mn0m.jpg
5nrfc7.jpg Argus the Adventurer. The idea of it suited him, he thought as he tramped across the windswept plains of his flight's home. He'd always been taught to follow the wind - it didn't matter where it went, after all, and what was waiting for him in the Wind clan? Nothing. He had no mate and his parents were silly beasts that he hardly dared to call Pearlcatchers. He would become like the wind, transient, moving swiftly from territory to territory without a care. Not that he did care, he told himself.
That is until he came to the marsh. He'd chosen to skip the plague flight's territory, for fear of catching something, or meeting some unsavory individuals, and instead journeyed across the Sea of a Thousand Currents. The salty air agreed with him, but he couldn't stay. Unfortunately, he had to also resist the urge to turn right around and wash the mud from his shining scales in the ocean water. The muck, though it wouldn't stain his dark scales, sucked at his claws and made walking incredibly difficult. Flying through the twisted branches of the tress was impossible. He learned to take whatever mossy, lumpy dry land he could find as a blessing from whatever hateful deity governed this land. He didn't care to remember what she was called. He just wanted to get through to Dragonhome.
In his head, he grumbled to himself endlessly. It seemed like the trees were moving. The mud went on forever! The marsh was a maze, he slowly came to believe, and that devious fiend of a dragon.. who? The Shadowbinder? She must be moving the walls on him, keeping him inside the territory. He felt as though he was doomed... until he saw a flash of shimmering white among the blackened, glowing trees. An impish giggle interrupted his frantic train of thought. Bewildered, he followed it.
The flash of white contrasting the darkness of the swamp danced and weaved among the trees and brambles as expertly as a faerie. For minutes at time he would be forced to wander again, lost, when it refused to show itself, only to be led away again by a laugh like the chime of a bell. Confused, frustrated, he burst into the center of a clearing and stumbled into a fire pit, knocking over a spit on which a row of lizards were roasting and landing face first in the hot coals. His pearl rolled out of its pouch on his side. When he scrambled to pick it up, he found it gone. His heart sank to his stomach.
Until he saw it in the grip of a white-scaled pearlcatcher, her eyes gleaming with mischief. "New here, aren't you?"

He joined Elkrys's clan that day and slowly became attached to their leader. He often resolves to move on, but never does. As fond of her as he is, he's never really forgiven Elkrys for his tumble into that fire pit, and does his best to cover the marks from the incident.

Of course, every dragon has his limits. Fed up with the dark, mud and Kainu's (and his wife's) antics, he decides after days of consideration to move on. Fearing a confrontation, he leaves the Shadow flight in the dead of night without a note or goodbye, choosing to flee to the Viridian Labyrinth to the northeast. It didn't take long for him to find himself face to face with the border patrol of a territory known as Iron Oak. The clan Elder, Hehewuti, allowed him passage, and quickly took a liking to him. Argus was given the freedom to come and go as he pleased, and offered a permanent home in the village. For the time being he has chosen to settle down, finding the bright and colorful atmosphere of Iron Oak to be a refreshing change of pace. Over time, he and Hehewuti began to grow close. Whether a new romance is beginning to bloom has yet to be determined.
