A traveler from a lightning clan, Eshka was trapped into the clan around the time Jura came into power. He helps Clover to raise and look after all of the hatchlings in the clan. All births must be sanctioned by Jura. Eshka and Clover raise them until they are sent off to other clans, given to others as apprentices, or chosen for exaltation. Eshka despises the clan's habit of careless exaltion and supports Petrova as the next heir to the Ridge. He is close with her more than most other dragons. Eshka believes that the way Jura rules is outdated. That fear is not the way to control an entire clan and that honesty and straightforwardness is the best policy. If not for his extraordinary care and ability to raise hatchlings, Jura would have had him exalted long ago.
