Chestnut

Chestnut is a slow speaking, but kind hearted, Snapper who fell for the clan matriarch when he was nothing more than a hatchling. When he was brought to the clan, he latched on to Oriso right away, and the matriarch didn't mind having a little "assistant" with the lighter duties of the clan. However, as he grew up, he began to make it known that he wanted to be more than just her "little assistant". There was a perfect chance for that to happen when Oriso's second mate volunteered to be exalted, and while he feels bad about going in to soon, Chestnut is happy on where it got him.

While Oriso is the protector and matriarch of the clan who takes care of it in general, Chestnut is the more social of the two and makes sure he gets to know everyone in the clan, from the oldest of dragons to the youngest of hatchlings. To the newer dragons who have yet to learn of their matriarch's heart, they agree Chestnut should be the leader instead of her. All the Snapper does is point out what his mate does to ensure the clan is running smoothly and happily, before attending to his other duties. He is close friends with Grandmaster and Hellbound, and helps them with their hatchling duties whenever he gets a free moment.

Rumor has it that Chestnut is a terrifying creature when angry but much like his mate, it's extremely rare to see. Others say he doesn't have a fighting bone in his body, and would rather try to be peaceful with the enemy before anything else. Only Etna, the head of the guard and third in line for Matriarch, has ever seen him fight. She say's it's something raw but powerful, and needs to be trained properly. Chestnut doesn't want to though, as he isn't much of a fighter, but more of a nurturer.
