Clan Babysitter
Hatchling Sitter, Defender, and Herder

Deva is the clan babysitter. He is responsible for watching over and defending the hatchlings of the clan while their parents are engaged in other activities. He makes sure the hatchlings follow whatever schedules they've been given and escorts them to lessons with teachers. He's sometimes responsible for taking them on field trips outside the lair, including journeys to be rehomed.

Deva is a bit of a gentle giant with those he cares about. He especially loves hatchlings and smaller species such as Fae and Nocturne. He is also aware of his size and strength which makes him nervous and extra cautious around such smaller dragons. He often chooses to sit still and let them use his large back as a playground.

His strength also makes for a good problem solver as far as he's concerned. He's quick to resort to physical violence if he thinks it's necessary. He is particularly overprotective of hatchlings due to the loss of his only two and can charge first, ask questions later if he feels they're threatened. This has resulted in some rather unfortunate misunderstandings from time to time.

Deva is a bit of a romantic. He doesn't gush but he does often think about finding a mate to bestow his excess devotion upon.

(Deva - short for Devatenáct - is based on a stitchpunk OC from the movie 9. Characters in the movie - mechanical dolls imbued with fragments of human souls - were named after numbers. Devatenáct is Czech - his origins - for 19. Characters shortened his name to Deva for easier pronunciation.)
