Biography
Asterion was the dragon-master's first dragon. In their earliest days, the master was still learning to control themselves and their dragons. Dragons would perhaps more use their lair as a stop in the road rather than a full-on home, though this did not bother them.
Asterion's egg was for sale in a market when the dragon master spotted it. Curious, they approached the egg, floating and circled in gold. The seller sat and convinced them this was just a pretty rock, a gemstone of sorts, but the dragon master felt the energy waiting inside. They paid his price, knowing it was far too much for a simple rock but far too cheap for an unhatched egg, taking it home to their own nest in the lair.
Unlike the previous lightning dragons, this one nearly exploded when hatching, a burst of purple energy scattering from it, large glowing cracks appearing all over the shell. A few times the light pulsed, then it happened again thrice more before the dragon emerged.
They felt his consciousness brush the edge of theirs, something they had yet to feel with lightning dragons. Curious, they imagined reaching out, trying to open their mind to it. It felt warm, alive, though uncertain; with no life experiences, it was a raw energy. They could feel their own electric energy vibrate through the link, and feel their magical energy flow back. Through this, they established their mental link, the first step for the dragon master to truly rise up to their capabilities. They raised Asterion with utmost care, the only dragon that stayed at the time, the two learning to send thoughts to one another, to communicate mentally over distances greater than before. He, like all Arcanes, were desperate to seek knowledge and explore. They humored him well into adulthood, allowing him to grow and reach new heights.
Asterion is now rarely seen away from the clan leader, though he is often sent as a representative to the clan and is the first one wandering dragons are directed to. He is coy and cunning, even clever and cheeky when need be.
