(Letter to Samier's parents, until I get around to writing his complete bio) Dear mother, dear father, I'm sorry for not writing you sooner. My Search has taken me far, through the Ashfall Waste, the Windswept Plateau and the Scarred Wasteland to the Starfall Isles. Here I joined a young clan. I admit, it had much to do with wishing for campanionship while continuing with my Search. The clan is rather unusual. It's made up of different breeds. Our leader is a Mirror, while our second is a Skydancer and they are both mated to Nocturnes (uhm... to different Nocturnes. I know, it sounds obvious but given our newest clan members...). Either way, when I first joined the clan, I spend most of my time with Surasa, another Guardian also on her Search. It was good to have someone understand what it's like, Searching for you charge. Surasa and I mistook this connection for love. We had two hatchlings, Clawhammer and Norice, who have already left for their own Search, but decided that we are not mates, just friends. Taking care of our two hatchlings and helping with the others taught me that I enjoy teaching them. In gathering knowledge and passing it on to the clan's hatchlings I have found my Charge. As far as a pair (well, at least at the time) of Guardians who joined us after having already found their Charge are concerned, I should have expected it when I bonded with a Longneck Interloper who came to our home to gather information. As much as I enjoy teaching, it doesn't mean that I always understand the youngsters. The best example is Leliel, although by now she's almost an adult now. For a while now, she'd been following me around and pouncing on me to get me to sparr with her. I tried asking some of the older dragons, including her parents, for why she does it but they just grin at me... Either way, I hope you are doing well and I will attempt to write you more often from now on. By the way, the Charcoal Sprangyroo carrying this letter is looking for a new clan to work for. Perhaps your clan could use the help? Your son, Samier As the info on the left suggests and, as the other clan members figured, Leliel had chosen him as her mate. It took him a while to realize it (much to the amusement of the rest of the clan) but he got there at last and they have been happily mated since. |
