Among the other hatchlings, Sunscale is the most knowledgeable. He often makes excuses not to participate in hunting and fighting practice, and would much rather be at the Den reading and observing. His knowledge tends to get him into fights, especially with Darkstorm, for being somewhat stuck-up. He is also sometimes called a smart-aleck by his siblings, although he uses the term "being factual."

He has taken an interest in alchemy and has recently begun to conduct experiments in his makeshift lab near the Hearth.
