Decay
"I bet ya thought ya one upped me there!"
"She can last long and fail quickly."
So, what are ya gonna do with your treasure? Spend it or hide it? I've been itchin' to buy a new pair of boots or maybe some armor. Somethin' to protect my tail, what do ya think? Well, I'm not gonna waste good time talkin' about it on the docks so I'll see you later, Shadescreech. Whoa, and where do ya think you're goin'? I don't see any other ships docked here and the captain isn't hirin' so just go on your merry way back to where ya came from. Ya don't want to have to be hand delivered back to your clan 'cause ya stepped on the wrong tail and there's plenty of wrong tails here to step on! Come on, let's go. I'm not hatchling-sittin' here so we're goin' the other way. Say...do ya know where a dragon can find a good set of tail armor for cheap? 'Cause if ya do, I'd not mind ya showin' me the way. Allies |
History
"Decay was the daughter of a rather vicious pair. Her parents, a shadow dragon and a water dragon, were always lurking around in the dark, trying to find the smallest of creature to slaughter. Due to their strange ferocity they were kept away from the hatchlings and any other smaller dragon or familiars. Decay inherited their bloodlust, but had a touch of disdain to her. She found hunting and attacking to be enjoyable, but not to the obsessive level that her parents did.Decay, as a hatchling, was around Bloodrose far too much. The pirateer clouded many clutches of hatchling's minds with the thought of being a pirate, sailing the seas and plundering goods from other clans. While Decay found that to be a nice dream, she heartily doubted that she would ever get to be part of a crew. With her little experience on a ship, she was sure she would get in the way. Never the less, she always found herself sneaking away to the Auction House, hoping to run into a crew wanting some fresh blood. She was simply fodder for her god anyway, so what was the shame in trying to spin her yarn a different way?" The young dragon found it in the form of the Black Firebird, a large ship that belonged to Captain Firefeather. After a brief exchange, she was hired on and quickly set to work. Decay's fear of getting in the way came true at first. It took some time for her to learn what certain words meant and how to perform some of the tasks on the ship. The crew's entertainment was using unrealistic words for items and telling her to go and find them and every time, Decay would go look. This determination followed her into battle both in the ring and when they pillaged clans. Some of the crew called her stupid but others marveled at her brevity in the face of danger. She enjoyed fighting and even when the odds were against her, the mirror never backed down. Her strength alone proved a problem for smaller dragons. Decay's will to accept nearly any challenge took her from the deck of the ship into the depths of the auction house and onto uncharted islands. She was caught multiple times trying to steal from various vendors and was banished from the auction house. The ring brought her one of the scars on her hind leg when she was told she would never beat Kholin or Svarog. She fought Svarog and lost but the battle had been drawn out and the ridgeback managed to inflict a nasty gash. While Decay is only as agile as her breed allows, she will fight using the weight of her muscle and will kill if her opponent doesn't submit. She isn't considered one of the better fighters of the crew but she can be a long-lasting opponent and has been proven to remember faces easily. Despite enjoying the fighting portion that her life constantly allows, the mirror has a high intelligence that she rarely puts to good use outside of the battlefield. Her knack for remembering a move being repeated by an opponent earlier in battle has saved her from death many times. She gets along with some of the more calculating of the crew and was praised once by Anayi. While Decay doesn't consider most of those she gets along with friends, she is loyal and will defend them like she defends the ship. |

After several successful sailing missions out in the terrible seas, a mutiny happened. All of Firefeather's loyal followers and crew were threatened, simply put. Change allegiance, leave the ship, or be killed. Decay, a devout, loyal crewmate that she was, was one of the many that tried to fight back. Upon attempting to defeat their mutinous captain, she was thrown overboard and left to drown.
When Decay awoke, she was on the back of a guardian that was headed to the shore in the Blacksand annex, and she once more fell unconscious.
Once more, when she awoke, she was in a cozy, warm room, covered in furs and surrounded by small faes and nocturnes. They all clamored once she woke up, and went to go get the leader of the clan, a Mirror named Upsilon. He told her to just rest and that she was safe with them. Upon recovering, Decay became a member of the clan, a fierce fighter, and an extremely loyal heart to the leader of the clan.
