For an Aftermath dragon, Alastor is surprisingly intelligent and gentle. He had no clue as to why the Wastelands called to him as strongly as it did and it was for this reason and this alone did he choose to remain so close to the Wyrmwound.

He has been with the clan ever since it moved to the Abiding Boneyard, passing the time learning about cavern structures from Kithairon, the clan’s head digger. His existence was a quiet one; hardly any dragons noticed him save his own mentor and a few who roamed the caves.

This peace was shattered when Auxo barged into his life. The wildclaw herself claimed that she had been hired by Heracles (the truth of it was that she had made a bargain with him and had won that bet) to help maintain the clan’s lair, and she was to begin immediately. He fell in love quicker than one might expect and the two got together after they dug out the tunnel to the Rotrock Rim, the first of the clan’s expansion closer to the Wyrmwound, and celebrated by drinking all night, sharing drunk kisses and stupid stories.

But his nature as an Aftermath cannot be ignored. There are times when base instinct takes over and he puts those around him in danger—he cannot help but run from danger as survival is hard-wired into his brain—and this torments him constantly.

Someday, he will lose himself in the wreckage.
