This young guardian is a prodigy scholar, spending a lot of her time reading and studying about the world around her. When her brother gets into trouble she’ll use her large vocabulary to talk him out of his consequences. It’s her dream to study among other famous dragons and even become a instructor.

Raven was, in a word, curious. She always had been, of course, to the point of annoying any dragon not entirely as invested in her studies as she was, but now her interest was just stirred by the mottled grey Ridgeback that she had been seeing more and more of around the clan. Here she thought that she had met all of the clan's older dragons...but apparently not! She only had to inquire to hear rumors about him, too; he didn't converse outside of his lectures much, they said, and he preferred to just observe from afar when he wasn't insisting on gathering everyone to listen to his lengthy recitations, but he had a special sort of gift that was to be revered: a gift for memory. Memory? Now there was an interesting thought. They spoke of him as if he recalled everything and anything about any dragon in the clan, as if he was somehow omniscient with regards to their clan's events in a way that no other she knew of was. And actually attending one of his increasingly-numerous recounting sessions, listening to him speak of thoughts and actions that he had no way of knowing...Well, it just made her even more determined to find out his secrets. So of course she had to go and find him on her own. Reluctance to talk or no, she had to find out more about this strange Ridgeback that called the clan his. However, it was a lot easier said than done. He would slip away from any dragon attempting to speak to him alone, with incredible ease, and it was common for him to disappear for hours on end, without a single trace. The latter was almost more perplexing than the former, to Raven; after all, where could a dragon as large as a Ridgeback even hide? Plaguebringer knew that she couldn't get away with hiding so easily, and she was close enough to the same size! But even though her efforts to get him alone were unsuccessful for a while, she still quite eagerly attended Jyggalag's recountings, and without so much as a hint of the boredom and irritability that plenty of the others held for such things. To them, just because the Ridgeback's gift was fearsome and respectable didn't mean that they should have to listen to absolutely every little thing that didn't relate to them or the clan as a whole...To her, though, she couldn't seem to ever get enough of it. And one day, it paid off. He left, and she followed, and instead of immediately attempting to lose her in the lair, he kept a steady pace to allow her to keep up. He even led her back into his hiding place away from the others, cleverly concealed in a way that only the knowledgeable would even have a hope of figuring out... Then he finally spoke, directly to her. "You wish to learn." There was only one answer for it: inclining her head to him and speaking right back. "Yes." And he was silent, for a few long moments, his Ice eyes meeting her Wind ones, neither one flinching or so much as blinking to break the contact. She wondered, then, if she had perhaps made a miscalculation, and that alone finally did provoke her into saying even more. "You wish to not be lonely, either, just as I don't." ...Saying more maybe hadn't been her brightest idea, she realized immediately after doing so, and now she was just braced for disappointment; it redoubled when she saw the surprise briefly in his eyes. But when he let out a strange little noise that actually sounded amused, of all things, it was clear that she needn't have worried so much. "Raven. We had the presence of mind to foresee this. We were correct...we're always correct," Jyggalag added, perhaps a little smugly. But to Raven, that was nothing she would object to; not when he had not only proven his immense intelligence, but had also just greeted her like a friend, when he had done so for no others that she knew of. "Why wouldn't you be, with your power?" She had sat back on her haunches, then, feeling free to look openly intrigued. "It interests me...as do you.." "Yes..." Of course it didn't seem to be a surprise to Jyggalag now, and now he was actually smiling, if slightly. "Learn. Stay with us." And that was exactly what she had wanted to hear.
