Biography
Minerva
The Forge
The process could only be described as painful. Being gutted, seemingly killed only to be filled with liquid fire that could be felt even through the veil of certain death. It was that fire that kept her alive, somehow. Either they knew that the magic running through the veins of an arcane dragon would allow them to survive the process, or this was a blind guess on the part of her captors. Minerva had no time to think about that, through the pain. She felt it and smelled it and tasted it all at once. Fire. And then, she blacked out.
Rumors say the fire in her body leaked from every orifice, until it finally exploded from her body with enough force to turn all around her into ash before she woke again. She didn't care, really. All she could focus on was the immense pain that enveloped her as she blindly rushed from that place and into the night.
It's still painful. Of course it is, having pure heat flowing through your veins hurts, and will never stop hurting. But she found a use for it, somehow. She became known as The Forge, and her ability to craft arms and armor anywhere was something many envied and admired. None would approach her though, they were all far too frightened to come near her. Until Iago, of course.
Maybe she respected his openness, his lack of fear when approaching something now more machine than dragon, more fire than blood. Maybe it was the promise of darkness, a place to not be stared at like some kind of monster. Maybe it was the idea of having a home again, something she had not known for so, so long. Or maybe, just maybe, she saw a kindred spirit in Iago that day. Someone who knew and understood the stares, in a way much different from hers. Either way, she joined his young clan, and never seemed to want to leave.
