It's been said, sometimes jokingly and sometimes not, that Contrana was a maple tree in a past life. She certainly bares a striking resemblance, branches of autumn red and blossom white leaves set on her shoulders, and driftwood decorating her limbs, but outward appearances aren't the sole source for the comparison. There seems to be a never-ending depth of wisdom residing behind Contrana's soft smiles and downturned eyes. And where she cannot herself provide answer, she accepts her lack of knowledge with grace, and is the first to point querying dragons towards others that might better serve there needs.

A delicate touch, tender heart, and long memory have also served Contrana in her duties as clan herbalist, and as Yharrow's mentor in the healing arts (not that the Skydancer has realized it). The Plaguetouched Skydancer might be one of the brightest minds of both the Plague and Nature Flights, but treatment is useless if it not seen through to the end, and that is where Contrana excels.

On her desk, in a section of the lair overflowing with medicinal herbs, is a notebook. Its cover is weathered and the binding is loose from being open so many times. Inside are dates and prescriptions and patients going back all the way to the founding of the Clan of Glowing Night. And, if Contrana has her way, one day Yharrow will be the one writing within it.
